For anyone who's seen the movie, you might understand why I used the title. For those who haven't, rent it. Great Robert Duvall flick.

Just a little warm and fuzzy this morning and I hope everyone else can enjoy the fuzzyness.

Hey, MsG! Having a little hiccup with the dial-up at present, but will get on that recipe response like Jayne on BBQ when I can.

Weather changable here. But at least it's dry enough to walk over the ground without that weird 'hey-I'm-making-like-Jesus!' effect now. Off to Cornwall end of the week - supposed to be a walking holiday, but training so far consists of husband baking scones for cream teas.

Warm obviously due to the usual Nevada wether. Fuzzy...
I love my family. There is plenty I would do to keep them safe and happy, even to go as far as to better myself to do so. There was a terrible event that happened to a distant cousin/friend of my sisters. I was asked to do things that I don't think could better the situation and have decided to take an alternate route appropriate for the health and well being of myself and my family.
So yeah. I love my family. They keep the fuzzy in me alive.

We're talking more than a sheet here, right? more than a roll...oh, but, wait one item. I figure if there's more than one lagoon/pool there could be the swimming one and then there could be the "other" one.

Now, non-survival items. Hygiene can be maintained in other ways than from a bottle. I will grant that women will have more complicated issues here so I'm limiting my comments to those of the unisex variety. (IMHO all of our Browncoat ladies should have an unlimited supply of their particular essentials--which we could lump under survival items in this case.)

Some manner of fully illustrated super encyclopedia. Like a dump of Wiki or some such. Or failing that: a copmputer with web access and a Gilligan on a generator bike to run it.

Or an ice skate in case I needed any dental work.

And how in the world can they get away with no A/C MSG? Even our facility has it's own set of licensing requirements that state we must supply an environment conducive to the health and well being of our clients. Noted right down to the temperature. Bit I guess 71 degrees ain't a steady temperature dor the well being of the children going to school in your state.

A student outcome is a drsl( pronounced dersel) or desired result for student learning.
It was determined that they would put a/c in any new school being built, but not in older schools since it was " cost prohibitive for the usage" translated you only use it 4 months of the year and it's really expensive so NO.( on a side note, all older schools are in the poorer sections of town and are attended by low income and immigrant families) The legislature buildings were remodeled in 2005( at a cost of $28 million) and all have very high quality a/c, which is odd seeing as our legislature meets in Feb and only has meetings in summer when there's a special session (which rarely happens)
Yes I find it vaguely ironic that it is illegal( federal law) to keep livestock in conditions that exceed 85 degrees , but it's perfectly ok to keep the kids in an airless room that exceeds 90.
Oh well, it'll cool down by Nov.

Not really on the side of immigrants of the illegal persuasion right now. But looking at the area, I can understand it. Seems every kingdom has to keep its peons in check.

So warm and fuzzy today because like I said, I love my family.

Friday night a distant cousin (and a close friend of my sister) walked in on her boyfriend sexually assaulting one of her children. The guy ran and has not been found yet. Chances are he's still in the valley as he has no money and few friends. My sister went with her friend to Reno for the examinations and reporting. I'm hoping it is a reality check for my sister. While she was with her friend my sisters kids are still at home with Grandma. With all that happened with my sister last year it is still a wonder to me why she would still be messing with another fella that might be an illegal immigrant. The perpetrator of her friends children (it was confirmed that he molested the friends two and five year old) is an illegal. I can't be down on all illegal immigrants. But to cross our nations boarder without taking the proper steps is a crime. I can't claim to completely know what living there is like, but the rez wasn't a far reach from a third world country. It took alot of people time and effort to make it a better place. There has to be a way for folks to do that for their own country. Just real sick over the whole thing. There are other details I will save, but some of us are taking an active stance in this case and possibly others.

Here's a formula they tend to keep out of math books.

Power = Corruption

Absolute Power = Absolute Corruption

Politicians = Absolute Power

Therefore Politicians = Absolute Corruption.

It works here, in Wisconsin. Has been exhaustedly tested many times.
Our Wisconsin Politicians would die before damaging this formula.

So now you know it was inevitable that air-conditioning would find its way to the proper location.

Sorry for the militant stance I took today folks. I've actually been gathering support for some stuff going down here in the valley. Tomorrow I will be talking with the tribal police chief. He is the former director of the Childrens Justice grant the tribe has been in charge of a few years ago. His constant support for victims, especially children, has been a part of our community for several years. The Department involved is not quite as active as it should be in finding the person in question so some of will be posting his picture around town and taking flyers to the local dairies and ranches in the hope that some of them will cooperate with his capture. Seems they have employed so many illegals that the only way to persuade them is to threaten the money in their wallets and their "upstanding" reputation.

Goodnight folks.

ADD: A video from my favorite regional hip hop group, Who Cares. 7803 Glen Tree is the name of the song. A song about being there despite the problems she has, puttingup with crap because she means so much. Sound familiar?

Government subsidized textbooks! When I was in college I'd get plenty of textbooks on amazon.co.uk. The dollar was a bit stronger back then, but even with the pound being worth more the books were still way cheaper than in the states. I actually made a profit sometimes by the end of using the book and selling it back to the bookstore.

College taught me so much...about conserving money and taking advantage of any possible deals.

I'm partial to the cinnamon, myself.

OK I get your hint. Anyone else?

;-)

No hints there, hoss. Just verbalizing my preference. *hug*

Emma, you will love them. Send her a tin of each!

Yes, ma'am!

Got your (Emma) addy - I'll drop some in the post!

You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. And love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keels… makes her a home.

mmmmmm, plum jam. That sounds tasty. :)

I have never had the ginger, and I just don't see the cinnamon going well with chocolate, but maybe I will try one if it is ever around (being around Rose at D*C, I am sure they will be around).

I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Can't think of anything particularly great that you can only get in the UK. Anyone have any suggestions (eith from general knowledge or personal experience?)

I don't mind the postage. Send some spotted dick! Noooo. Just kidding. ;-)

Thanks all. I just get all fired up and... you know the rest. Seems more is at hand than I had kown before and there is alot of work on the way.

Glad you got the box there Jimi. Try not to fret any bud. If you need us we're here. I can't figure the countless times you've told me that and I have always believed it whole heartedly. Press on my Browncoat brother.

Did I see some board bartering happening. Good. I've got to trade with some great folks from afar and got some real cool stuff out of it. The best thing I ever got though was a new connection with like hearted people in any number of different places. Good for y'all.
