I purchased my Serenity Collectors Edition CD on Tuesday, and waited until this evening to settle down to enjoy my favorite crew. Did I miss something? I thought the term extended scenes meant some edited out scenes were added to the movie to make it a little different. I have watched the original Serenity numerous times, and it's the same movie.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad if my purchase helps Serenity II come into being, and I loved the 2nd disc, but I feel a little disappointed.

The "extended scenes" are an extra on the DVD. Joss has said all along that the film as released is the "director's cut" and so is the only version.

I'm sorry Moonbayb.

There was never any mention of incorporating scenes that had been cut or extending any scenes that were already there. So I expected the same film and was pleased with it. Only I noticed the sound was awesome and the picture was clearer and less dark.
My original Serenity copy is so dark, there are actually things I saw when I watched the CE that I didn't see at all on the original!

I was more than pleased with the River Tam sessions being something more than little screens on my computer. I loved the extras... the on set stuff with the crew and Joss was wonderful!

I would have liked to have seen a few HOURS of extras. But then it's pretty hard to get enough Firefly or Serenity.

America loves a winner!

I gots a special edition version of the comic strip w/ my copy of the BDM:CE. Bought it at BestBuys. Would that be something which you'd like ?

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Bummer, the adverts say "with over an hour of dvd extras!" I will still buy a copy to help the cause though.

I guess I just assummed (ya I know what that makes out of you and me) the movie itself was going to be reedited to add the extra, and I do't remember Joss's comments. I'm still glad I purchased the set.

Dear Budda I want a pony, a plastic rocket and my BDHs!!! Epecially Mal, Budda....pleeeesse?

Perosnally, I bought CE in hopes of getting a look at the Mal/Inara scene on Miranda. It's definitely in the script and I think I've even scene still, but I didn't see it in the deleted or extended scenes.

Am I just blind or was it not included on the CE edition?

Nope, it wasn't included.

The scene in the Companion House training session was on there in the cut scenes.

Also the extended scene in the shuttle with Mal and Inara was in there. But no scene where Mal and Inara talk on the outside of the craft in which they hear the "secret that cooked River Tam's brain".
That scene is intriguing for many different reasons... but not included.

All and all I'm thrilled with my Shiny Edition and grateful to Uni for putting it out for us. Now... more please?

I continue to hope...

Do does anyone know where I can find the Mal/Inara on Miranda scene? Do I have to get the Aussie edition?

I don't think the Mal/Inara on Miranda scene has ever been released to film anywhere.

It was cut and it remains cut apparently.
The closest I've seen is a picture from the scene in Serenity: The Official Visual Companion.

I wish there were more Bloopers. They seem to be the same ones as before
