Just wanted to toss up a reminder, The Browncoat ball is coming up in Philadelphia just 1 month from now. Registration deadline is the 15th of September. so get scrambling folks. Matt and the commitee have come up with some shiny good plans. Please go to ...

http://www.browncoatball.com

...for more details and ordering. Also there is a myspace page dedicated to the ball...

http://www.myspace.com/browncoatball

...It should be a fantastic time. Browncoats are coming from all points of the compass. This could be a good oportunity to put a face to some of the names youve come to know... You all are firmiliar with the boards, you know the fan base. Is there a finer individual then a Browncoat? I'll be there! (please dont let that disuade you from coming, I'm actually quite charming...Even if my spelling is crummy!)

Do I have to dress up? Do I have to dance 'cause that ain't happening unless I have way too much to drink...

Wish I could come. But I live on the rim. The fare is too expensive for me.
Best wishes and happy brawling.

Ah, the website has all the answers. It says "costuming is encouraged..." but apparently is not mandatory, and "In addition to their ‘verse music, The Bedlam Bards will also play some formal music for traditional English dance. We will have a “caller” on hand to instruct those who wish to learn and will lead the group in several dances."

This whole weekend sounds like a great time. I'm going, I'm gonna dress for the Ball, and maybe I'll even try to learn a dance.

If all goes well with my husband's visit to the orthopedic doctor in two weeks (for a knee injury, and we don't know how it's going to turn out, possible surgery-wise, so think good thoughts, please!), we'll be there.

Dressed up, semi-costume wise...

I searched last night and couldn't find pics or video.

Where can I look?

Also, I know many who are going to the Ball and they're a fine bunch o' reubens!

I am still trying to swing it.

CLIOMUSE

Last year's ball was a blast. Unfortunatley we haven't the platinum or credits to go this year. My non-dressing-up/non-dancing husband did both and had a great time.

So Cliomuse, I guess maybe there is hope for me too

Hope you and your husband can make it Moth. If his knee won't dance he can just put his leg up and we'll BS the night away.

You too Mike, it would be good to see you at the Ball, really hope you can swing it. Shall I bring my three Serenity CE DVDs for verification or do you trust me?

For those that can't come I will make sure I have enough fun for all of us...

I'm sorry, this went right over my head!
I figure if you're threatening to attend the Browncoat Ball, yer pretty serious.
What are the CE DVD's to verify?

Densely Yours,
Mike

Sorry about the obscure reference. On another board I said I'd buy two additional copies of the Serenity Collector's Edition if another Mike did too. You posted your receipt for three copies so I went ahead and bought another two.

Anyway, yeah I'm threatening to attend the Ball, and I'm serious about having some fun

Jim
