Firsties!

(Wow. Damn quick that I got firsties after only 17 minutes...)

You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. And love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keels… makes her a home.

Did I hear Mango Martini? Still wish I could be there. Love mixing drinks for folks to try.

Of course after a while folks are not caring what they are drinking as long as the drinks keep flowing.

Then the clothes start coming off.

"Yeah. That went well."

NICODEMUS

Having just finished a week of 'afternoon' shifts (3pm -11pm, I'm now having to switch my sleeping pattern back to handle the early rising of day shift (7am -3pm). Work has been hit and miss lately, mostly due to arguements between one of the major mining companies and the transporters, so we've been having some lazy shifts (like the one where we sat around watching the lunar eclipse) and some really busy ones.

So jealous of those able to be at D*C this weekend.

Hiya Mavs! *Glomp*

Well how have I been... Hmmm.....

*Downs a beer*

Well we are installing IP Phones into all of our Offices in Northern Michigan to be able to use the Corp Phone Book and we paid an Independant (SP Don't care to look up) Contractor to do said install.

So far they have been paid over $100,000 USD to do this and I have been the one doing most of the work for them. They have no clue what-so-ever!

*Downs a beer*

Example: I had to teach them how to make an ethernet cable. A F%&#en Ethernet Cable! And they still screw them up!

*Downs a beer*

I installed all the Equipment Racks (5 Offices so far), made all the ethernet jumpers (not gonna count but close to 100)(With my Companies Ethernet Cable), Racked up all of their gear, Set up the UPS Systems, Toned out the cables to label where they go (in case future issues arise (which they will judging from these ASSHATS)), logged on their system and tested all the phones.

Were is my cut!

*downs another beer*

Been on the road for almost 2 weeks and I am tired of driving!

Besides that and missing D*C I am just peachy though!

DCBDone!
NVG, your gifts were appreciated and enjoyed with much enthusiasm. A portion of it was wandered off with on Sunday night which led to the question "But where has the rum gone?!". A full chase ensued with several Spartans being questioned along the way. They assured the pursuers there was no room in the leather man panties for a large bottle. Ahem.

Mmmm.. Spartans...

There was a small flock of them who had actually gone on diets and worked out to develop/improve six-pack abs. They may not have been aware of the whiplash they were causing in the female (mostly) con-goers. While fine examples of womens' nearly-non-cosumes abound every year the reverse is not always the case. It was a refreshing change, I am advised.
Wonder WoMAN was also another highlight.
Never having attended a Con of any kind previously , the time was marked by many interesting discoveries. Yes, pasties and a handful of feathers in public is technically legal, for instance. Lack of pasties with said feathers and body paint is technically not, but the wearer may still be able to get away with it. Ask Canter about her photos. She's got some doozies!

The costuming contest Sunday night was fun/painful to watch (on TV). The highlight was when two large cardboard dinosaurs came out and Wash's monologue was reenacted. Both performers fell over, then a white mutant enemy crossed the stage to 'grr.. arrr.". We almost died laughing.
I'll stop hogging the thread and let everyone else tell you about their highlights when they get back.

PS: 76th High Command reported that we were getting the hairy eyeball from jedi, and looked so veryvery shiny during the parade.

I went to bed at 9:30 last night and got up at 5:30, but I hadn't slept in days...but at least I am doing better than poor darling Jimi who wore himself into the ground taking care of everyone and making airport runs and food runs and just generally being his wonderful self...
I really feel we need to win that lottery and make browncoat island. I really can't wait a whole year to see everyone again...
