Hi pretty Bryce! Give Magda lots of hugs for us when she gets there! Oh, also, I should send her canteen to you; she left it in a corner of the hotel room and I'm betting she wants it back.

avery, I have no idea, but then I'm not the one to ask *snicker*

The thread keeps changing places? I wasn't aware. It's always in General Discussions as far as I can tell...
You mean why do we keep starting new threads for it? Because otherwise no one could load it.

Well I meant keeps getting replicated, new topic made. Ah, so it gets too big, I see. How come this forum's threads only have one page as opposed to starting a new page every so many posts? Keeps a single page from getting too big. This is the first forum I've seen that doesn't have that feature.

Definitely limes, not lemons, for those of you that need training wheels.

If I know our MsG, she'd be referring to body shots. I have heard of (but never done) a couple of methods of doing this, both sound intriguing.

One is with the salt on the stomach, shot glass within the, uh, tracts of land, and lime in the teeth, and the person doing the shot cannot use their hands to do any of it.

The other puts the salt on the inner thigh, shot in the belly button, and lime within the tracts.

Morning all,

I shall bypass the whole tequila discussion on the grounds that I am British and we don't do that sort of thing

As for the teacher with a pencil sharpener problem, I think a softly, softly approach would be best and just be glad you don't have me for a son as I was only a couple of years older than that when I led my first primary school pupil strike! I would have probably had a heated discussion about why it wasn't fair when all I wanted to do was sharpen my pencil, I was that kinda kid.

Exciting news, have started my Physics course, course materials finally arrived yesterday and the OU is so much better organised than the uni I went to. Already learned we are all made up of up and down quarks

Hey Emma, that would be brilliant with the Dresden books, I'll let you know my address or we could meet up! Will be a big help as after I finish The Children of Hurin (which I am loving!) I am sort of confused where to go so new reading matter would be great.

Anyway, must get on, catch you all later.

*wanders off with a cup of green tea and a smile*

Hey Jimi,

recovered from meeting all those Browncoats yet? The 76th looked awesome from the pics I saw.

Yes, I like studying stuff and promised myself I would do something properly once my other half qualified and so now probably six years of studying ahead but looking forward to it and have a degree at last would just be a bonus.

As for drinking, gin goes in with tonic and should be drunk at the cricket or polo.

Or in modern day England, you drink as much alcohol as possible, hopefully as cheap and as sweet as possible and then throw up in the street but that is a whole other issue.

Personally, I have thankfully moved on from whiskey chasers, which were always the danger sign when I was younger.

Ah, good that you get to study more. Had I the resources, that's all I would do for the rest of my days.

I am still in recovery, at this point I am getting over the blues of missing everyone. I still have some local-ish people, very close friends, that are helping me to get through it (thanks Zeph!), but I am already thinking about other Cons and about things to do for next year's DragonCon.

Gin is the one alcohol I really don't drink, well, that and wine. I'll take a glass of whiskey, be it bourbon, Tennessee, single malt scotch, Irish, or most any other sort that isn't Canadian. :) Neat, of course, or maybe on the rocks.

*bursts into the bar and begins singing*

As I was going over the far famed Kerry mountains
I met with Captain Farrell and his money he was counting.
I first produced me pistol, and I then produced me rapier.
Saying "stand and deliver, for ye are a bold deceiver,"

Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol
There's whiskey in the jar

I counted out his money, and it made a pretty penny.
I put it in me pocket and I took it home to Jenny.
She sighed and she swore that she never would deceive me,
but the devil take the women, for they never can be easy

Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol
There's whiskey in the jar

I went into my chamber, all for to take a slumber,
I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure it was no wonder.
But Jenny drew me charges and she filled them up with water,
Then sent for Captain Farrell to be ready for the slaughter.

Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol
There's whiskey in the jar

It was early in the morning, just before I rose to trouble,
Up comes a pack of footmen and likewise captain Farrell.
I first produced my pistol, for she stole away my rapier,
But I couldn't shoot the water so a prisoner I was taken.

Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol
There's whiskey in the jar

Now some take delight in the drinking and the roving,
But others take delight in the hurley and the bowling.
But I take delight in the juice of the barley,
And courting pretty fair maids in the morning bright and early

Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol
There's whiskey in the jar

If anyone can aid me, tis my brother in the army,
If I can find his station, in Cork or in Killarney.
And if he'll go with me, we'll go roving near Kilkenny,
And I sure he'd treat me better than my own lass sporting Jenny.

Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol
There's whiskey in the jar
Musha ring dumma do damma da
Whack for the daddy 'ol
Whack for the daddy 'ol

Yuck, getting really busy again at work. This is the first time I've been able to stick my head in here.

The tequila discussions sound intriguing. Sadly I've never been to those kind of parties! I have also sworn off tequila for life (but then I've said that many times before, usually in a croak somewhere around 3am)

Gee, we MUST meet! Some evening when you're not too tired and you're foot is behaving itself give me a bell and we'll go out for a drink and I'll pass the books over. I'll PM you with my mobile number.

Hmm, I have the house to myself for the next 3 weeks. I wonder if I threw together a last minute shindig/ dinner party how many UK coats could I attract into coming?!

Open invitation - who could or would travel to the outskirts of Leicester? Give me an idea of who's up for a party!

Cool Emma, I'll give you a text when I can figure out my days, a huge dead bit fell of my toe yesterday and suddenly it's looking a lot better and I can walk normally again although can't wear a shoe as it is still bloody sore!

Really dumb assembly this morning which put us on assembly schedule...however it was a super short one so now I'm stuck with my advisory for 45 more minutes...sigh

Looks like the only weekend I have free in the next two months is Saturday 22nd September.

Gee, might you be free that night? I might also send out an invite to Hobbleit. Who else have I forgotten who might be interested? UK browncoat names needed because I have a bad memory!

If I can't arrange something for the weekend after next (which is a bit short notice) I'll pester people till they come to a party in a couple of months!

Yes, yes, I realise I'm acting out from DragonCon envy. I fully admit this. Would still be cool to organise a shindig (I'd be happy to give lifts and put people up overnight!)

You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Not whiskey, Rose. It goes down so smooth, with a little bit of sweetness to it (or maltiness, or peatiness, or other flavors, depending on what kind of whiskey it is). Rum is good too, especially the dark stuff.

MsG, they drink around us a lot more now than they did when we were younger, though I do remember my dad getting totally tanked on his 40th birthday. Of course, they have seen me really drunk a lot more often too (actually, dad was giving me really approving/envious looks at the last party while the lovely Deana was doing what she was doing )

You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. And love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keels… makes her a home.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Darling, a true lady takes off her dignity with her clothes and does her whorish best. At other times you can be as modest and dignified as your persona requires.

If the universe has any purpose more important than topping a woman you love and making a baby with her hearty help, I've never heard of it.

Well I'm student free for the next hour..I'd best enjoy it before the little monsters come back...well actually I go to them as I am covering a class for another teacher:)
Gotta love that prep period though. 45 minutes or so to get your head back on.
