Well, I thought it was well worth having a holiday in California and hitting a giant Nerd convention at the same time. I was delighted to meet Gina Torres there (she was a VERY good convention guest). Please find a link to some pictures of the con below (sadly my camera was kind miserable at taking shots in the dark stage area and I HATE the damned flash on that thing). I really need to get a digital camera!

Gina looks beautiful!

You were kidding about Sally Kellerman right? She was in the original Star Trek episode w/Gary Lockwood (becoming Gods and all) AND she played Hot Lips in the original movie version of M*A*S*H

It looks like you had a great time and met a lot of stars...it must have been a really wonderful convention (wish I had been there!)

Great pictures! Gina is amazing-looking!!
I've been to one of those conventions and it was great fun. Shatner was hella-funny as was Marina Sirtis (ST:TNG).
Got to meet Nichelle Nichols, who was one of my sheroes when I was a kid.
Yeah, the nerds were there, as well as the people in costume. There was even a Klingon wedding between a couple who met at a convention.
Did anyone ask Gina about Firefly, the cancelation and the upcoming movie?

Yeah. Gina Torres. :) :) :)

She's REALLY quite tall too - and those lips. Wow! (My favourite Firefly woman before that was Jewel 'cause I'm an engineer in RL and she's playing my dream woman!)

I knew Sally Kellerman was the woman from the pilot Trek episode, but I never liked MASH, so I didn't know her from that.

And yeah, it ws John Rhys Davies (brilliant actor IMO), I really liked Sliders (well, those episodes I saw before BBC 2 Scotland axed it in favour of weird Gaelic kids TV!).

Apologes for my rank sarcasm in that (VERY basic website), but the reason I made it was for my mates who were also there. (Hence the lame Fat Shat jokes). ((I've went off him since I met him in person 2.5 years ago; very arrogant and 'nasty' in person, but he's very good up on stage)).

He looks very thin. But then again, last thing I saw him in was LOTR which he moaned about as he had to wear all that makeup (he said he wouldn't play Gimli's grandfather if they made a Hobbit film because of all the makeup). I presume he also wore padding in the movie?

My earliest recollection of him was from Indiana Jones, and nah, he hasn't aged at all.
