I had forgotten all about Firefly when I first saw the previews. I thought it was going to be lame. So I never followed it. I ended up buying the DVD set because it was being sold as a set on Amazon next to Showtime's "Jeremiah", a very cool post apocalyptic show. When I saw the reviews I couldn't believe my eyes. Over 500 reveiws and up in the 5 star category. I never buy anything I don't know about without checking its reveiw status on Amazon. And for $32.00 I though I didn't have much to lose so I thought I'd try it out.
GODDAMN YOU FOX FOR CANCELLING THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!
Needless to say I am hooked. I have only watched to episodes once because I lent it to my brother to get him hooked.
Now I am hearing about a movie. Can somebody give me some more input or even a link or two??

Try the internet movie database at WWW.imdb.com and check under Serenity. There is also info available at www.universalstudios.com and www.FireflyMovie.com. When the movie comes out in 2005 be sure to tell your friends to see it. We are all hoping a box office smash will revive the series.

Keep Flying!!

Now, son, it is gorram not goddamn. And welcome to the Browncoat ranks.

Universal is making a Firefly movie written and directed by Joss Whedon with all of the original cast members. It is due out in 2005 and will be called 'Serenity'. Production of the movie is to begin in June of this year.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

GOOD. One of the hardest parts of trying to revive a shut down series is that the major actors usually end up seeking life else where once the the show is cancelled. By the time something is done to revive the series they find that at least some of the major players are tied up with something else and can't commit. Best way to ruin a series. Not have the same faces. I can't stand that. It makes it almost impossible to follow. They did that with the "Lonesome Dove" miniseries and I almost didn't follow it after the original. Note I said almost.
Anywho with all the original being kept in one place making a movie hopefully we won't lose any for the series revival.

NOOCYTE

Yah, the loss of even one of the actors/characters (I doubt Joss would have re-cast...) would have been a terrible blow to the movie and any eventual series. It is truly a tribute to how much these people loved what they were doing and knew they were part of something special that they have all agreed to give this a go (not to mention the good possibility of making embarassingly large stacks of cash...at least if we have anything to do with it!).

In any case, welcome to our motley crew; you are in the enviable position of coming into this Thing with the payoff in place, without having had to endure the months of frustration and uncertainty! Still, I'll take those sour grapes and make the wine with which we'll toast the Big Damn Premier!!

Keep Flyin'!!
