It's that time again! Long, long ago, in the beforetime, the Southern Ohio Browncoats (SOBs) got together for their very first official Shindig. (Okay, it was the second, really -- but the first was only attended by three folk, I believe, so let's just all that a meetup.)

The year, as I recall, was Two Thousand Aught Four. Which would make this year's the 4th Annual Grand Shindig. Four years and still goin' strong! Can't stop the signal!

WHERE: As is tradition, we'll kick off this year's Grand 'Dig at Woodland Mound Park. It was the site of our first 'dig, and it allows for grillin', pitchin' horseshoes, runnin' around, and all other manner o' funocity -- 'cepting, of course, liquor. (State Park, so the adult beverages will have to wait 'til later.) Kids welcome.

WHERE, PART 2: Afterwards, anyone interested in seeing Serenity (and partaking of aforementioned adult beverages) can join us at the Nantucket Theater, a small 15-seat theater (with plenty of floorspace) in my apartment community. Big screen projection, Dolby surround sound, and free popcorn (while it lasts, which ain't long in the summer, since folk using the pool also munch on it). BYO everything; we'll also have leftovers from the park, I'm sure.

WHEN: Saturday, September 29th. At the park from noon until whenever; at the theater from 6:00 PM until midnight. That's 12 full hours of shindiggery!

WHY: Because.

WHO: YOU! And you, and you, and you, you, and you. All of you. And you, too.

DIRECTIONS: Will be forthcoming. Or just Google "Woodland Mound Park." Also, "Nantucket Community Loveland," for directions to my place; the theater is in the Members Clubhouse, which is the big building next to the pool when you first pull in. Better directions to come.

It would be nice if those coming could let us know. Everyone usually brings food to this thing, and it helps to know how many mouths there'll be. It also helps me know how far I'm going to exceed the 15-person maximum the landlords mandated for the theater. (Shhhh.)

So sing out! This is the social event of the season, and you can't buy an invite with a diamond the size of a testicle -- because it's FREE!

See you in the world!

Dave

P.S. Andrew, our Fearless Leader and seldom-seen Founder, sometimes makes an appearance at this event. It's said that if he sees his shadow, new FUX shows get 8 more weeks before cancellation!

Wish you could join us, too!

Four, eh? You're the first person to correct me on that. Thanks!

That's less than an hour from where I live, very shiny. Sign me up plus one (maybe two)

How many can the theater hold before someone notices?
