Oh sigh...my school blocks the 76th board ( as being of inappropriate content according to them) so I never have any idea what's going on until I get home...

HUGS Zeph glad your happiness has returned:)

Saw this on the 76th Forum, and had to share it, as the 76th was, for all intents and purposes, born here on this forum.

This is a song, newly written by Cedric and Hawke, The Bedlam Bards, for the 76th, and performed live for the first time this past weekend at the Browncoat Ball.

It hasn't been recorded yet, but here are the lyrics. And as a member of the 76th, I have to say I am stunned, speachless and honored by this song.

Freedom Costs
An Anthem for the 76th Independent Battalion

When you can't run, you walk / And when you can't walk, you crawl,
If you find someone to carry you / Then rise up and stand tall.
One raindrop might be nothin' / But no one can stop a wave,
So let us stand united / When we aim to misbehave.

Chorus:
Freedom costs, Freedom costs
When you know your cause is righteous,
You don't stop to count your loss;
Freedom costs, Freedom costs
Libertas Sumptus, Freedom costs

The Alliance is your enemy / But the top brass ain't your friend,
In the Independent Army / You're in the company of kin;
Though your enemies are many / Never fear their fierce attack,
Just remember you're a Browncoat / You've got friends to watch your
back.

Well, you all had different reasons / But you all answered the call,
I'm about to ask lots more of you / From some, I will ask all.
Some of you won't see the dawn / Some won't see the night,
If we can't do something smart, my friends / Let's at least do
something right.

It might look like madness / But love is what we've found.
Love's what keeps us in the air / When we ought to run aground.
Love will keep us sailin' / When it seems like we are through,
Well, we might be banged up plenty / But with love, we will fly true.

Mornin' 76th!

Thanks for posting the lyrics Zeph. I had read yesterday that the Bards had payed us the high honor of writing a song about us, but I had not heard it as I was not at the Ball.

The words are moving. I can't wait to actually hear them sing it.

Maybe we can call them before or during the shindig to get the melody so we can all sing it when we are together.

Not a bad idea Jimi.

Even better idea; we beg them to get it onto MP3 before the shindig so we can download it and listen to them sing it. We could ply them with beer.

Better that the Bards sing it as I would most like have every dog in the Colonel's neighborhood howling with my singing.

Oh wait.....we're fightin' the Alliance, right? Damn. We need some purplebellies at D*C to use as targets.

Good on the moving thing Zeph. Just think of it as a lot more room to display those wonderful collections of yours. Those trains and planes are just way to shiny to not be out where guests can enjoy them.

Hope everyone had a shiny weekend.

I really don't think ANY purplebellies will be turning up where the 76th is rumored to be in attendance. Not unless they start some sort of secret underground group to try & get organized. There's just a whole acre of us to contend with.
heh - makes them sound like the rebels instead of the feds

well, my week started out pretty bad, as some may have surmised. But, Monday, I was treated to the undivided attentions of one of our wonderful medics, PFC Dae, who gave up her day off to keep her CO company and keep me from getting too down on myself, and then Tuesday I had a lovely evening with another of our troops, and last night Cpl BirdDog spent the evening with me.

Does a guys heart good to know I have the 76th at my back even through the dark times. Its no gorram wonder I consider all ya'll family.
