Hi Everybody,
This is going to sound a bit emotional..melancholy ..

When I first got introduced to the Firefly last December, I became an instant and avid fan. For months, I kept on pursuing blogs, fan videos, scavenged as much info as much I can...of course, watched all the episodes zillion times..I also bought Serenity blueprints..(mine is numbered 30 in limited edition ;-)) .. I am known as hardcore firefly fan..and some friends call me Resident Firefly Expert!!!

But for past many months, especially after I graduated from college and looking for job, the fire for firefly seems to have decreased a lot..

While I still follow all the info related to the firefly but not as avidly as it used to be. On one side, I don't want to reduce fanaticism at all, but on the other hand not having enough motivation !It feels like the magic of firefly is ebbing away! It makes me deeply sad..sad enough to write to you all..

Has anybody else felt it? What can I do?

Thanks Browncoats! Together we stand, divided we fall!

Jari

Sounds like a life change. Graduating and entering "the real world" is a big change, and you're trying to find your place. Don't sweat it, it will always be there, and your passion for it will return.

SACRILEGE!
HEATHEN!!
BLASPHEMER!!!
Go back to the depths from whence you came.

Seriously, I agree with GG above. The change in your life has helped to bring this about. Once things have settled it'll be waiting. Console yourself with thoughts of a possible (and I stress the possible) sequel.

In the meantime say three Hail Mal's, recite the Ballad Of Serenity each morning for a week and watch three things featuring one of our BDH's that isn't FF or Serenity. After that you should be back on track.

I worried about the same thing at one point, but it does come back. I find that it goes in "waves" (if you'll excuse the pun) during the year, and depends what else is going on in my life.

it'll come back - and we're closer to a sequel than ever: http://boards.nbcuni.com/universalHD/index.php?showtopic=472

but... life is a balance - love for firefly is not judged on how many times you watch each epiosode - no/one is competing here - an' we aint so quick to judge a fella either:)

the damn shame is that there is only one series and a movie (so far) of course you can't watch it day in - day out forever.

i bet come xmas you'll treat yourself to a nice cosy viewing... if not? well - life comes first crewmate!

stay shiny

I go through this often. I consider myself an avid fan but sometimes my interest fades for a while and I move on to other things for a bit (though I still check these forums often, even when interest is low, just in case the Big Damn Anouncement of a continuation of Firefly in some capacity is made). Usually, I'll hear something in chinese or see one of the BDH's on another show and think 'oh, I need to watch X episode of Firefly again' and end up re-watching the series and BDM again and, viola, the passion is refreshed!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Lwaves, not to hijack this thread, but do you realize that today is almost 3 years you've been on this forum(a few days past, actually).
Happy anniversary!!

Hi Everybody,
Thank you so much for wonderful responses! It really made me feel good, especially the part where people have experienced the return of the passion.

In fact, after reading all the responses, I watched first few minutes of BDM and I felt connected a lot better.

Btw, I also happen find our Mrs. Reynolds in new NBC detective series called Life. She is in episode 102 called "Tear Asunder" and the character is titled Olivia. The character is similar to that of Yosafbridge!

They have full episodes in Video section. Seems pretty interesting! I am gonna follow it!

Thanks guys!

I can't say I've experienced this before, it must be akin to listening to someone from AA or an ex-drug addict confessing but not being able to identify with them......

I do understand the circumstance though. Your skies will get crowded, but keep on flyin.....

Mal's expression in the scrapyard when he first see's Serenity says it all.
