I haven't seen any posts about this yet so I thought I'd start one.

I saw this over the weekend and I have to say it is the best vampire movie I have ever seen. It was dark, disturbing, not overdone with gore but just the right amount, and most importantly it was real. I really felt like this was a real movie about vampires. People reacted like they would in this situation, with general skepticism leading to "well, I guess vampires are real."

And I was actually scared in this movie. Most horror/thriller movies make me laugh. This one was downright frightening. Now I will admit, there was laughter in the theater. But it was all nervous laughter of people going "that's not really funny, but I don't know how do react b/c it's just so scary."

Of all the horror films coming out for the Halloween season, I highly recommend this one.

Five stars out of five in my opinion.

DARKFLY

I haven't seen it mostly cause of Josh Harnett apart from his role in Lucky Number Slevin he's of the most wooden actors but since you say its great I'll have to watch sometime.

Definitely, don't let the fact that it's Josh Hartnett deter you from seeing this movie. He does a really good job, as do all the actors. Also, IMO, director David Slade is amazing and will be seen more in the future.

I'm a big fan of the graphic novel and I was very happy that my conviction that this was one movie they couldn't possibly mess up was vindicated. It was awesome!

I was surprised they had such an excellent soundtrack and that no doubt added to my happiness.

I thought Blade and Underworld were better. More original.
30 Days seems like a formula meld of The Thing with vampire lore.
