Life Onboard Serenity is a text based RPG, anyone can play anyone can join.

Rules:
No killing of other author’s characters or of canon characters. In that vein, try to keep canon characters acting like themselves.

Please try to post with consideration for fellow authors and with some consistency to current story lines.

Sub-plots are great and we welcome them, but please try to make them fit into the current stories as much as possible.

Oh, and please keep things as close to PG as possible. If you have a more adult scene you'd like posted, post it as a spoiler.

THey merry crew made there way to a samll planet to seal some shiny cargo from an Independent group. DOc was masquerading as one of the Browncoats and joined our bunch. And John shot Wolfe for "no reason."

OOC: Well technically I'm still waiting for Jake to give me my blades back so, you know, I'm... waiting As to the story line being all iced up, I'd love to bounce a few ideas around, but I don't think I can come up with the next plot all by myself I'll give it some thought and then hopefully I can post something. If you (as in ANYONE OF YOU) are interested in working this out with me, tell me and we'll cook something up.

Pain climbed into the Front Hall from his bunk and closed his bunk's hatch. He wore a tan TG Freight tank top, olive drab cargo pants, and black combat boots. Attached to his right leg was a black tactical holster (which itself was attached to a belt of matching color) carrying a large .500 Magnum revolver. As he walked into the Galley he noticed that John, Doc, and Kaylee were playing a round of Tall Card.

Kaylee looked up, saw Pain, smiled and said "Hey Pain! Wanna play?"

Pain smiled at the mechanic and said "Sure if'n you guys and gals don't mind dealin' me in."

He began to juggle a dirk from one hand to the other. "A efficacious way to avoid it would be to ditch your message account..." He sheathed the knife and got up. "I need a snack," he thought as he progressed toward the dining area.

For those of you joinin our little game here are the fan accepted unofficial rules of tall card:
Long Pai (Dragon Cards) follows Draw Poker rules unless otherwise stated.
6 suits (Plum, Peach, Orange, Apple, Apricot, Banana) of 12 cards (72 cards).
Ranks:
1-8 spots, Ace can be high or low.
Face Cards: Tortoise, Unicorn, Phoenix, Dragon (The Ssu-ling "Heavenly Beasts" of Chinese myth)
In addition to the 72 regular rectangular cards there are 6 round cards called "Tall cards" one for each of the 6 suits.
The Dealer shuffles the regular cards and the player to the right of the Dealer shuffles the Tall cards.
The Tall card for that hand is revealed after everyone antes up. After the first round of betting, players can discard and draw up to 3 cards OR the face up Tall card can be claimed by a player instead of a discard/draw.
Claiming the Tall card allows the cards in one's hand, that are of the same suit as the Tall card, to become wild in rank. If the option goes around and the Tall is not claimed, the Dealer is forced to claim the Tall.
Another round of betting takes place and surviving players still in the game reveal their hands with the highest ranked hand taking the pot.
(One interesting thing to note is that "5 of a kind" is a possible hand in Long Pai, since there are more than 4 suits.)

If you use the above card deck (72 cards, etc.), the probabilities of receiving certain hands change, so the new hand rank for the above deck should be:
Royal Flush, 5 of a Kind, Straight Flush, Flush, 4 of a Kind, Full House, Straight, 3 of a Kind, Two Pair, One pair...(descending order)
Notice the only real changes from the normal poker rank is that it is much harder to receive a Flush, and the addition of 5 of a Kind.

Once they were on their way to Persephone and the autopilot was set, Bella made her way to the galley as that was where everyone seemed to be gathered, judging by the noise coming from that direction.

When she arrived, most everyone seemed to be gathered around, playing cards. Interested, Bella watched but stayed out of the way, just in case she wasn't welcome for some reason.

John walked into the cargo bay adn saw Zoe. She looked sad, like always. He could feel his mind mimic the hole she felt in her heart. He shed a tear. She was empty and broken, and no one was trying to fix her. A piece of Mr. Frye's wisdom passed through his mind. "Sometimes a thing gets broke and can't be fixed." He pushed this pessimism out of his head. He would help Zoe, she was the last piece to put in the puzzle and make Serenity whole again.

Pain had meant to go the Cargo Bay when he left the Galley, but on his way he wound up heading to the shower room near the passenger dorms. He had decided to take a nice, long, relaxing shower to calm his nerves. Pain didn't know how long he was in the shower, but he knew he should get out before the captain yelled at him for using all the hot water.

Turning off the shower, Pain stepped out and grabbed a towel, drying himself off before putting on his clothes and gear. As he stepped out of the shower room, the fresh smelling Pain made his way to the Cargo Bay. Upon entering he saw Zoe, John, and the new girl named Bella. Not wanting to disturb them, Pain quietly made his way back to the Galley.

Pain sat down at the table in the Galley, having snatched a few packets of brown and red protein to snack on. He placed his feet on the table despite the fact that the captain didn't like it and proceeded to open the packet of red protein.

"Gorrammit open up you ruttin' hun dan!" yelled Pain as he struggled with the packet.

He was a strong man and had the muscles to prove it, but he always had problems with opening protein packets.

Pain grunted some more and said "Fine you want to play that way, then we'll play." Taking out his knife, he looked at the packet with a slightly psychotic grin and said "All right you stubborn little shiny packet of protein. Now you're goin' to get it."

As he was about to take the knife to the packet, Pain felt like he was being watched and turned his head towards the direction of the Engine Room.

Seeing John and Bella, Pain smiled and said as he still held the knife tightly in his hand "Oh hey you two didn't see you there." Putting the knife down, he continued "I.. um... was just havin' trouble openin' a protein packet." Waving at Bella, Pain smiled and said "My name's Pain by the by."

my internets more screwed than a border planet whore, so i can only post when im at my friend house, plus im just startin' my GCSEs at school, but ill post whenever i can.

chair3" yes, and the work he did for niska, simply superb."

chair2" i trust we wont make the same mistakes he did?"

chair4" good god no! that was entirely niska's falt, stupid choice for the serenity assignment."

chair1" reynolds is going to get pulled into this, once he realises we're back, he'll come rigt to us."

chair2" i thought he was on our side?"

chair3" he was last time but now, well, he's got himself a crew."

chair4" we'll justr wait a see then shall we?"

They walked onto the bridge. John sat in Wash's chair and thought about Zoe again. She hadn'tset foot in the bridge sense it happened. She neede heal...
"WRONG!!" River flew out of her chair and started rolling on the floor. "New lady onboard is not right. She doesn't fit. John leaned down and grbbed River's hands. Although he couldn't influence everyone's feelings, the psychic conection he shared with River allowed him to calm her. "Breathe River." River stopped shakingand calmed down.

She turned to Bella. "She doesn't belong. She lies"

Bella had introduced herself to Pain but hadn't had time to do much more than that before John took her off to meet someone else. For a moment, she wasn't sure why they were up on the bridge as it didn't seem like anyone was there.

john, you do relize that the ONLY reason I am posting at 2:47 at night is to make you happy?,...and I was board and couldn't sleep.

After the game dissolved, with Doc being a absolute winner, Doc took her winnings and headed to her bunk. On the way she relized something. Doc really wanted a nice hot shower, and a clean change of clothes.
'But wait!!! I don't have any clean clothes! Thanks to a huge Hwoon Dahn* named John!!!! Note to self:as soon as possible when on Persiphone slip away get and replace my bag on that planet.'
