Here are all of the Starfury Serenity LA pics Lynn and I took. Considering we took 976 total in poor lighting, I'm surprised to be posting 807 of them. There are a lot of fuzzy and out of focus ones, mainly due to the low light at Element. Thankfully JenskiJen gave me a mini tripod on Sunday and I was able to take some very nice shots from the front table.

I never get to see the BDHs at all, all we have had here in NZ was Summer and Jewel, once. And i doubt they'll come again. I have to get my fix damnit.

There are usually 2 reason they do that.

1. The actors request it. It's usually part of their contract.

2. The convention is small and expensive. The organizers want to make it special and give value for money by making it something that you have to attend to see.

Would anyone, by any chance, know if there will be a conference anytime soon in canada? you see I'm from montreal and me and my firefly community( oh yeah, we're here too!) would like to see them.I don't care about the price or how many miles I have to travel but a trip to california( hotel and such) would be a little too much.

Besides, It would be hard to explain I have to take a couple of days off to go meet my gods lol...

Honestly, she looked way hot in person. At first it's a bit shocking, but she looks great. And she really is enjoying it so expect to see it short for the next year or so.

But thats the thing. As i'm in NZ i'll never get the chance to see the BDHs. I dont see why they cant just make a proper recording of it and sell copies of them?

Also, why do the actors request that?

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why they can't sell copies. It usually has to do with rights, clearances, actors protecting their image since things they say at cons can sometimes be about other people or companies, or any number of other reasons.

Actors usually request no video or audio so they don't have a chance of looking bad, either their appearance, or for anything they say.

Honestly, the conventions they do are for the attendees. It really does suck that they don't show up as often in places like NZ. But a few of them have gone to Australia, and continue to do so.

I don't know what else to say about this, someone with more insight into the workings of conventions and actor appearances can answer your questions better.

She's recently done an independent film in which the director had her cut her hair. She actually loves it now!

Thanks DanRegal and JetFlair for posting your pics. It brought back so many great memories.

It also reminded me of a couple of things:

One fan asked Adam about his hat, and he said that the one from the Train Job had been stolen. He said there were 2 knitted hats, and he has one of them. He has been considering selling it to give the funds to a charity. The fan asked it he could have an expert knitter look at the hat before he sold it. Adam pondered for a moment, and said he might consider that. He added that his mother was a knitter, so she might do that for all of the Jayne Hat knitters out there.

Also, seeing Nathan's picture reminded me that one female Browncoat in the room took a look at his shirt and asked how much it was to rent Nathan. His response was that he was renting the shirt, and he wasn't for rent. shucks
