Pain's Bunk

Pain stood near his open weapons locker dressed in his usual gear and attire, but with a duster on. He stood there looking over his collection of knives, pistols, rifles, shotguns, and other weapons of mayhem.

As his eyes stopped at the shotguns, Pain scratched his chin and asked himself "What shotgun should I take? A sawed off, a pistol grip pump, or an automatic?" Sighing he continued "So many shotguns, so little time to choose."

After a few moments of pondering, Pain decided on one of his sawed offs, taking it out of his locker as well as a handful of shells, which he put in one of his duster's pockets.

Feeling the weight of the gun, Pain said "Sure do hope Jayne brings somethin' that'll hit a target at long range. A sawed off ain't exactly useful unless it's bein' used at close to medium range."

Putting the sawed off shotgun in the left leg holster designed for it, Pain made his way out of his bunk and towards the Cargo Bay, stopping in the Galley to pick up a snack.

As he straps on his pistols, Jake wishes that he had something besides borrowed weapons and clothes...

next time I get the chance, I need to get some of my own stuff... here's hopeing the job goes well and that I get enough scratch to get the armory going again he thinks to himself as he follows Pain out into the cargo bay

DRPAIN

The Cargo Bay doors were down and let in the smells of Eavesdown Docks. Pain breathed in deep, exhaled and said "Aww smells like chicken go-se and despair." He sniffed again, turned to Jayne, then said "Oh wait that's just you, Jayne."

"Ruttin' hell it is." answered Jayne, who then sniffed his armpits and continued "I took a gorram shower before we landed."

Pain smiled and said "In what? Chicken go-se or the septic system?"

Mal stepped past and said "All right you two knock it off. We're here to get paid and that's it. We can discuss Jayne's bathin' regiment later."

"Fine" John said as he walked to the cargo bay. He saw River in the rafters. "Have you seen Kaylee?" he asked her.

"She's fornicating with my brother in the engine room."

"Huh, well that puts us both out of a buddy. Let's go do something fun"

She climbed down the stairs to where he stood on the balcony. "What did you have in mind?"

For some reason, Bella was really glad they had finally landed. Why that was, she couldn't say, but it was true. As soon as she got a chance after landing, Bella headed down to the cargo bay. She needed something to do, preferably planetside.

She spotted John on the way there. "Hi," she greeted him and added a slightly more hesitant response to River.

Mal, Pain, Jake, and Jayne made their way through the mob of people on their way to get paid. Mal was in front, Jayne was on his left, Pain flanked Mal on his right, and Jake brought up the rear.

As Pain squeezed his way between an obese woman and her mate, he said to Mal "So how much further is it and how do we know this guy's goin' to pay us?"

Mal said to Pain while scanning the crowd for anything peculiar "Shouldn't be long, maybe another five minutes give or take. As for payment..." He looked to Jayne, Jake, then back at Pain, smiled and said "Well I'm sure he'll see fit to pay us one way or another."

Any help with what this guy looks like or where his place of business is at would be appreciated.

This is St. Clair the man we did the most recent job for. He is a big alliance guy, hates independents. Will want to see the goods but not keep them. He had us steal them just to hurt the independents.

River climbed oput of the hole she had created in the cealing. Her plan was perfect. John is a distraction then she uses her special skills to sneak in and get the cash. She walked out to the mule and climbed in next to Bella.

"Where is he?" River asked.

"Wow you guys are really secure." John said as he was backed into the crner by four aremd guards. A fifth was on a cortex scanning for warrants. He didn't have a lot of time. If they found his warrant they would shoot him right there. He had no choice but to incapacitate the guy with the scanner and move fast enouh that the others didn't shoot him. He was just about to through his wrench at the guy when BANG! A bullet smashed the cortex scanner. He didn't see who his savior was just sprang into action. He knocke a guard out with his wrench then kicked the gun out opf anothers hand. He grabbed it from the air and shot the other three in the kneecap. He ran out to the mule and climbed in. "Let's go!"

Bella was waiting for River and John in the mule. It seemed like this was taking a long time, and she was getting more and more worried. Then River arrived but still no John.

After just a couple more moments, John came running out of the bank and climbed in the mule.

Mal walked into St. CLair's office and Pai nand Jayne put down the two packages.

"I believe I asked you for three" St. Clair said. He wore a full three piece suit and has his hair done up all fancy.

"Goin somewhere?" Mal asked.

"Where's the third!?!" St. Clair would not be distracted by conversation, as crazy as he was he was one smart SOB.

"Couldn't get the third. We'll only expect a two thirds of the pay."

"But the one you left was one of the larger ones. That's two fifths of the goods."

"Well don't think we'll just roll over and..."

"Shut it Jayne, we brought 60% of the goods, we get 60% of the pay"

I'm here! The BDV's been keeping me REAL busy as of late, so I haven't been here as much as I'd like to.

"Well this is goin'.... well." thought Pain as he stood near Mal, ready to leap into action in he needed to. He glanced at Jayne and continued "If'n Jayne keeps his cool and doesn't do anythin' stupid, then everythin' will be shiny."

Of course there was Jake to think about. He was still a stranger and very unpredictable. Pain wasn't too sure what he would do.

"60 sounds shiny to me, Cap." replied Pain, hoping that Jayne or Jake wouldn't do anything to muck this transaction up.

I'm still alive as well.... just, life has kept me busy...

Jake lounged about by the door to St. Claire's Door, keeping a cool eye on the thugs in the room infront of him, and a ear on the transaction going on behind him. Grinning rather sadistically at the men, he kept his hands resting on the butts of his pistols, almost but not quite daring St. Claire's boys to do something.

'Well... this is goin' well...' he thinks to himself, wondering if a show of force may be neccesary to get their pay.

"60% Mal that ain't ruttin enough." Jayne complained

"It'll have to be"

"We'd be gettin more if John hadn't gone all trigger happy"

"Well you take that up with him when we get back."

They walked toward teh ship. Strangely, it seemed half the crew was gone.

"Kaylee, where'd John, Bella, River and Doc run off to?"

"Dunno Captain, didn't see em leave. I was...busy."
Suddenly the mule pulled into the cargo bay and the three hopped out with large bags of cash.

"Now what have you been doin?" Mal asked

"Crime." John replied and wlke dot his bunk
