I can't believe Fox still won't want to give this show a chance

So the European DVD was release today - against Kill Bill Vol.1 and the new Babaloyn 5 (I know I spelt that wrong and I don't care) set.

God Damn it! - Nobody's going to pick this up.

I went into three shops here (Ireland)

Golden Disks - Not in stock

Tower Records - Not in stock

HMV - Ok here we go, one shelf on the new releases and enough space for three sets in the TV drama section - they seem to have sold 2 from the TV drama section and maybe nineor ten from the new release shelf - that's not bad but not great.

I love this show and I barely even noticed them on the shelf. The limited edition packaging is just a foil stamped cover - that's all, same photo's and packing and stuff - a little gold foil "Firefly" isn't going to stand out against a life size cut out of the Bride - Or shelves and shelves of her Bruce Lee tracksuit and sword.

God damn it Fox - you couldn't wait one more week!?!?

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Sounds like time for some serious guerilla marketing Spooky. Do what we did here in the States:

- Put the DVDs in a place on the shelves where they can easily be seen by customers.

- If a store does not carry the set, ask if they can order it. Educate the staff on the show & its potential to sell in their store.

- Tell them about the BDM and that people will be looking for the DVD.

- Post flyers about the show & the DVD set to inspire interest.

- If you see someone looking at DVDs in the TV or Sci Fi sections, walk up and suggest Firefly. You would be amazed at how many people are willing to give it a try.

There are plenty of things we as Browncoats can do to help insure the success of the DVD set.

I've all ready asked stores "Where's Firefly?" and they've put in orders.

HMV do have it in a prominant enough place it's just all the Kill Bill stuff over shadows every damn thing.

It is Browncoatie of me to tell you that (in my head) I just saw Mal stab the Bride several times and say, "Well ... I'm okay."

"Just keep walkin, preacher man."
