When its a jar. Oops, wrong joke.

When its a box. New issue of SFX has a feature on the last days of Angel, and a box out interview from Shawna Trpcic about her short time on Angel and Firefly which had this little cryptic matter:

"There was this really great thing happening with Inara, getting this mysterious box in the mail. And then we got cancelled. We were just like, "What was in the box?" We didn't know, because I don't think even Joss knew."

I know the box received in The Message has been mentioned before, but this seems to add strength to the theory that the box had a lot to do with Inara needing to leave than simply Mal sleeping with someone else.

I wonder if the real reason that scene (which was in the final script, but not in the DVD version) was cut was because they knew they were getting cancelled, so didn't want to add yet another 'cliff hanger' sub-plot...

Y'know, I've watched that ep a number of times looking for a scene where she gets a package. And frankly, (I'm embarrassed to admit) I cannot find the hand-off they refer to.

Is there some kind soul out there who could give me a rough estimate of where it happens? A timeframe or a description of events just prior? It would be much appreciated. TIA.

It got cut - it's not in the ep at all anymore.

THANK YOU. I suppose if I'd read the earlier post with more attention I'd have understood that! LOL. But is it in the script? Is that how everyone knows about it?
