Can't seem to find a off-topic forum. Just wanted to comment: Awesome movie. The infected were too computer generated though. Go watch it, seriously. Just get ready to jump a lot.

I can't understand you but the link was clarity enough. Thanks!

Very interesting. I've been so consumed with my zombie game that I saw them as zombies but vampirism makes more sense.

Thanks again for the link.

Just saw it. Not bad, will make it better as a rental. I thought The Omega Man was better with Chuck Heston. Sam should get an oscar for it.

It was all new to me. I just researched it on Wikipedia. The book seems much different. And besides, I am not a vampire fan; my passion and fears lies with the undead.

On side note: Poor Samantha. I do have a question. Smith was being thrown around by a vampire biting his neck. Did that infect him? Is that why he put Anna and Ethan in the safe so he could stay outside with a grenade?

Spoilers- Now still fresh in my mellon. Dogs were not infected airborne but by bodily fluids. 90 percent of humans killed off, 9 percent flesh eaters, and 1 percent snacks. Infected from fluids and air. The one percent had an imunity then became skin pudden. The Lt Col stayed at ground zero thinking he was the last human.

Folks, you need to learn to use the spoiler tags if you're going to get into details about a movie that people haven't seen yet. Particularly one that a lot of people on this board may want to see.

Select to view spoiler:

Already seen Omega Man, years ago at that. I'd go just to see Will Smith, tho.

Omega Man was immune, not getting it from contact nor from air, but he could get just as dead from the eaters killing him. He clearly stated the canines needed to avoid contact.
I first thought that when he finally figured it out, that he would let them eat him, intaking his blood, so they would all turn even though he would be dead. However, he did need to rid the area of all that knew about the others, so he had to kill them instead of turn them.

Spoiler alert:
The Charleton Heston version was better than the Vincent Price version, and both the book and the Vincent Price version was better than the Fresh Prince version. For those that dislike reading, the story is the same.

The Omega Man and I am Legend are 2 completely different movies. I dont even think the Omega Man resembles the book. (Not that this version does either, I really must say)

Of Course I dislike the Omega Man intensely.

I really liked this version. I have no problems with it being different from the book. I think Will Smith did a great job. I have to agree I did not like the CGI of the affected and I wish we could get away from computer generated crap. Give me some real actors, some white grease paint and awesome posthetics!

Anyway, to each his own!

(I am REALLY looking forward to the new Batman! And what was with that Batman/Superman poster in the movie?)

I am on The List. We are The Forsaken and we aim to burn!

I wanna see it now but I can't till Boxing Day (I'm English) and I've so far avoided downloading it though the tempting is strong but I'll resist or at least try.

Off to oggle at Summer Glau pics on my HD, that will stop the temptation.

Then why are you clicking into a thread about a movie you haven't seen yet? That's just begging to be 'spoiled'.

I was soooo hoping Sam would live. But, alas, I was wrong. Definitely a good movie. And that dog needs to be nominated for something.

Will's character didn't get infected by the creature biting him because he was one of the small percentage that were immune.

No, it’s not begging to be spoiled. Maybe I’m checking to see what other people thought of the movie so that I could make a decision whether to see it? It’s really not that difficult to have some consideration for other members of the board. I'm not saying you can't discuss whatever you want, just be careful not to let any big spoiler slip. A lot of people would appreciate it.

Forget the lame @ss movie. Read the novella by Richard Matheson "I AM LEGEND". Believe me your not getting anything close to the book from the movie.

I looked up the book online and it had a detailed summary of it. I like the movie better basing only on concepts. Such as, I like how he owned the dog instead of finding it. In the book, the infected were too intellegent; sending spies, ect. With the movie, there showed little signs of intellegence (other than the trap) which made it more scary.

And yeah, Sam dying was like a mini-Wash.

Really? I find a monster who is just as smart, if not smarter, than the hero vastly more interesting that a monster you know the hero can outsmart. That was what was so cool about the book. The generic, poorly animated monsters in the movie were it's undoing, in my opinion. The more we saw of them, the worse the movie got.

True, but I love the idea of.. can't explain but post-apocolyptic setting and all - like I said, makes it more frightening if you're against something you can't reason with.

Yeah, the monsters were too computer generated. I think if the animation added some shadowing in their skin and more detail, it'd look better.
