MASTERBATES

Hello, all. I've posted here three or four times already, but have forgotten to formally introduce myself, which is something I do every time I join a forum (it's just common coutesy in my opinion).

Anyway, here goes:

I almost never give my real name away over the 'Net (I might eventually), but the pseudonym I write under is Andrew Owen. I live in the southeastern section of Oklahoma, out in the rural areas. The nearest "towns" are Checotah and Porum. My exact age is a closely guarded secret, but I'll give you a few hints: (1 I have a job and a vehicle (specifically, a 1980-something Cadillac DeSoto) and (2 I'm not quite old enough to legally buy alcohol.

I'm a huge Firefly fan, but I also enjoy SG-1 and Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, The Office, My Name is Earl, Dead Like Me (another show which, sadly, was canceled), The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Lost.

I greatly enjoy written fiction - I'll read just about anything (though my favorite author will forever be J.R.R. Tolkein). I even tried to read Das Kapital once, although I'm not going to pretend I actually finished it.

My taste in films is somewhat eclectic, but my favorites are Children of Men, Serenity, Kung Pow! (a spoof of crappy 70s Hong-Kong karate flicks which consists of footage from an obscure Chinese movie that has been re-dubbed; the results are hilarious), I Am Legend (the new one, although the old one is pretty cool too), The Day After (a 1980s made-for-TV movie about a nuclear war), and Doctor Strangelove.

I am an avid computer gamer with varying tastes - basically, I'll play anything that doesn't suck and that isn't World of Warcraft. My favorite game of all time is definitely Fallout 2 (which any Firefly fan should definitely play at least once; for that matter I'd recommend it to anyone); Elite (a true classic released in the early 80s) and its fan-made clone Oolite are tied for second place.

Politically, I am all over the spectrum. I have extremely liberal views on some issues, extremely conservative ones on others, and rather moderate views on most. I'm a registered Independent, but I don't really care what you are; I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I will never criticize someone else's political ideology no matter how much I disagree with it.

Whew, that was long-winded. There's more, but I'll save that for the blog thingamabob the site kindly gives its members.

(edited to correct spelling and eye-stinging paragraph structure)

FLORALBUNNY

Welcome Home, MB. You're #29779 to roll up
the ramp onto this shiny ship, and we're
right happy to see you.
We like to share strawberries and Mudder's
Milk with the newcomers, so step over here
and chow down. Then stash your extra stuff
in one of the cages, take your bags to the
passenger dorm, and meet us in the galley
for the questioning of the buffet. Cheese
is just getting hot.
Please do not step on ShipsCat or into her
dish.

Howdy and welcome. Nothing wrong with taking a bit of time before posting an introduction. Heck I've been posting frequently here for months and have yet to get around to it. Nothing wrong with being long winded either. This may be the shortest post I've done in weeks.

Anyway, I wonder when the rest of the Browncoat welcoming committee will pop up.

NCBROWNCOAT

Welcome. Did Floral Bunny offer you a virtual Browncoat? I haven't seen, FollowMal, our official Keeper of the Coats for a while.

If not, someone will find the key to the closet and find one that fits you.

I think I'll mosey over to the buffet and have a chocolate covered strawberry.
