The Golden Girls for cryin' out loud. That's depressing.

Anyway, still voting and nom-ing in the background here. What other shows are badly in need of noms here? I'll help if I can.

When do they recalculate the Top 40 btw? Is is monthly? - Jstn

http://www.savesurface.com/phpBB2/index.php]

Ni howdy, Jstn! Good to seeya back!

Don't let the shows in front of Surface get you down; you're making more progress than many, and, every show you do pass on the way up is a small victory. That's just how you have to look at the Nominations, especially relative to where a show /used/ to be.

Can't say that there are any shows that need you to sacrifice Surface noms for, though, I do appreciate your Top 40 votes for Firefly, as well as for Dark Shadows. If you read the stats I post (and, hey, isn't it convenient that I had to repost them for the new thread =^[.]~=?), there are several shows whose voters also support Firefly which could also use some help with their current efforts.

Anyway, you get better, soon, and, make yourself at home, here. Pass the link to this thread to your other Surface voters, we do enjoy having company, and, it wouldn't hurt to keep the thread vumped, either.

I don't know if you caught FlatTop's reply about the Top 40 recalculations; but, I'll repost it here, as well:

Mornin' manual stats VUMP!

As of Sunday, January 20th, we are back up and running at:

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 545,395 (544,357)

Total votes Xena: 455,219 (454,743)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,038 times (1,141).

Yesterday, Xenites voted 476 times (485).

(Xenites voted 562 (656) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.

Yesterday, Browncoat votes fell by 103, 9.03%; Xenite votes fell by 9, 1.86%.

Firefly is 90,176 (89,614) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #29 show Highway To Heaven 90,097. That puts us at 9,824 (10,386) votes away from a 100k vote lead, about 17.48 (15.83) days!

We got another banner, for 545,000 votes, today! Shiny!

5,769,230 (5,756,773) votes have been counted as of 01/31/08. Yesterday, 12,457 (12,394) votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast in that period, we needed to vote 1,246 (1,240) times, of which we fell short by 208 votes. Our share fell to 9.4535149% (9.4559401%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 530 (538) votes, and, is currently not receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 561 (559) votes, yesterday. BSG is also in pursuit of the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 43,180 (43,710) votes, and, 81.47 (81.25) days, away!

BSG could use some help, folks, if they are to make any headway against the westerns in the Top 5, and, they've extended us their voting support, as well.

#7 show Buffy got 504 (528) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 334 (337) votes, yesterday, in 148.53 (115.27) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 70,392 (70,896) votes, and, 139.67 (134.27) days, away!

#11 show Angel got 409 (417) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass #10 show La Femme Nikita, which received 180 (164) votes, yesterday, in 41.23 (38.23) days. #12 show Little House on the Prairie got 391 (335) votes, and, is not currently receiving enough votes to pass Angel.

Finally, #35 show Dark Shadows got 395 (411) votes, and, is on track to overtake #36 show Queer as Folk, which got 63 (76) votes, in 21.14 (21.94) days.

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll:

Total votes Moonlight 8,823 (8,524)

Moonlight got 281 (276) votes, yesterday, not passing any shows. It will take about 3 more days to pass Bleak House.

Up late and slipping in another vote or two.

Thanks for all the info. I'll nom for John Doe a couple of times upcoming. Never heard of it though. Anyone care to share what it's about?
Probably a cable show, so I don't see it.

I was a little confused (Why does that seem to happen here so often? LOLOL) about the vote retabulation, because the Top 40 board always appears unchanged when I vote. I see that when I scroll down a little that Browncoats are rockin' the Verse, and leavin' that Worrier Princess for Reaver chow, but I thought that would reflect on the voting board itself.

Anyway, I'm feeling healthier than I have in the last couple of weeks. Can almost breathe normally. Thanks for the good wishes regarding that. I can't impress upon you enough that if you haven't caught this thing, get the flu shot. (They are giving them free around here (Los Angeles) You really don't want to catch this bug, and it's still out there.

Be well, and I'll catch you next time I pass by if the Alliance don't get me first. - Jstn

Definitely! She's getting all my noms for now.
If you check the bottom of my daily stats post, you'll see Terminator at the bottom. The first number (starts with a 'n') is the shows current rank on the nominations board. The rest are daily/weekly/overall vote numbers.

Woke up late. Voted and Nom'd before my first cup of coffee. I don't do anything before my first cup of coffee.

Nom'd for John Doe as promised. So what's that show about???????

Not gonna Nom Sarah C. as it was ahead of Surface when I saw it yesterday. Being currently on TV should mean it will have NO trouble competing.

Ray - Saw that you signed up on my board, so I activated your account, and admitted you into the "invitation only", hidden part of the board. You are good to go.

Sister - I'm so sorry you are sick. Believe me, I relate. If it hits you like it did us, you are in for two solid weeks of misery, however the first few days are by far the worse. It infects your sinuses and coughing will make you pray for the sweet relief of a bullet through the brain. Take your meds (Sudafed worked best for me) which will minimize the amount of phlegm you will have to deal with.

Take care of yourself. My best thoughts are with you. Stay in bed as much as possible, and please don't go anywhere where it will be spread. You'll probably feel too drained to go anywhere anyway. Get better. - Jstn

P.S. - Now where's that coffee?

FINALLY home and vumpin @_@ reposting stats from old thread.

Painkiller Jane: 555
John Doe: 554
The Invisible Man: 547
Highlander: The Raven: 544

yay! thanks JSTN!! It's about a guy who wakes up knowing everything (and i mean EVERYTHING there is to know about..anything, including how to speak every language ever known, even extinct ones)EXCEPT who he is. He only sees in black and white for some odd unknown reason, and since he knows so much he consults with the police on some really elusive and weird cases. I think he was some type of government project, but we never figure that out because they cancelled the show before any significant revelations about his origins are found out, and we only catch a few strong nagging hints. Sounds familiar doesn't it? -_- *steams at Sci-Fi*

Voted and Nom'd again. Surface this time, but I promise another John Doe or two today.

Hmmm. A show about a know-it-all.

Some might say that's a show about me.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Thanks for the info.

At risk of getting on my soapbox, what is wrong with this network programmers? Do they not know history? Do they not know how many shows now considered classic shows took a while to catch on? Don't they remember All In The Family didn't catch on for a couple of seasons? Don't they recall that the morons at NBC cancelled Star Trek, which has got to be the most successful Sci Fi series (with offshoots) in history.

Surface had 10 million viwers for it's finale, and that was with NBC doing everything possible to "get in it's way"

Now, I learn of another show that sounds like something I would have really enjoyed, killed in it's infancy.

Elvis Costello said, "I used to be disgusted, but now I'm just amused" Well, I've turned the corner back to disgusted again.

Anyway, enough of that rant. John Doe (protest) Nom next time. - Jstn
