Maybe I missed the bus, but is anyone else aware that Summer Glau appeared on the "Waiting in the Wings" episode of Angel, season 3? She was a dancer in a ballet company. I knew she looked familiar, and there was her name in the credits.

If you've got (or can get) the DVD's, you can listen to Joss's commentary on the episode and about how her role as the ballerina led to her audition for River.

She does accents really well, doesn't she?

i love that episode so much. i've danced ballet for 8 years, so it's so awesome to have a ballet ep of angel! (especially giselle) summer was really beautiful, and amy acker was quite adorable and pretty good considering she hadn't danced in quite a while (on the hilarious deleted scene, that is). alexis was...words cannot describe it lol.

I did see the episode w/ Summer in it once. Very good episode. Summer did a great job acting and dancing.

BLACKEYEDGIRL

As an ex-ballerina myself, I was totally impressed with that episode. Thanks to the commentary you also learn that this was pretty much Summer's first acting job. The deleted scene with Amy & Alexis is the funniest thing ever! I was near to tears when I watched it!
Waiting in the Wings is in my top 10 favorite Angel episodes, and I could watch it over and over again.
If you watch the commentary for Objects in Space, Joss also talks a lot about Summer being a dancer and how that helped with her in this episode cos the episode was about how we each percieve our space, and dancers occupy space in a different way with a different understanding of where their bodies are and stuff. It's just realy interesting.
Hmm Karaoke, Ballet, Musicals, Joss has such a lovely, wide ranging taste!
