just took the "which serenity character are you?" quiz at http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/serenity/

resluts: i'm most like the doc. hmmm. don't know why this bugs me. except for the assessment that "wooing women isn't my strong suit"- who'd wanna' hear that? besides, it's completely inaccurate! anyway-
it's not that i don't like the doc and all, but...well...i'm gonna' hafta' think on it for a spell.
interestingly nuff, doc and the captain are most like each other. am i surprised? naw. always sorta' thought they were like two sides of the same coin, the characteristics less prominant in one sorta' exagerated in the other. they balance each other out in a kinda' way.

glad to'v found you. i need an outlet for this particular brand of fanaticism. no one else understands me like you do.

my credentials (from blog)

just watched'serenity' again last night. i remember when it first showed in theatres. i wasn't familiar with any of the actors, but i'm a big sci-fi/fantasy fan and wouldn't miss it. there's just not that much sci-fi being put out. loved it! i kept turning to my companions asking 'who are these people? where did this come from?' in a dazed and happy voice. then some friends told me about 'firefly'. hadn't seen it; haven't had tv for 6 yrs or so (didn't have electricity with which to run the thing!).

well, recently that changed. so i've finally had the opportunity to watch the 'firefly' series on dvd. what a delight! the acting is top-notch, the special effects are good, the setting is believable and well-conceived, the people are folk that most of us can relate to without being too predictable, and the writing is amazing: intelligent and very funny. very few films/shows make me laugh out loud like this one. the outtakes (a particular fetish of mine) for the movie had me giggling like an idiot- a very happy idiot.

apparently i'm not alone in my ardent -if belated- admiration. the story of the people(esp. fans) behind this quirky sci-fi has only added to it's charm for me and i'm sorry i wasn't in the mix when it was all going down. it is a rare and beautiful thing for story telling to touch so many in the way this has.

as a writer and performer- in various medium and genre- i'm thrilled to see someone 'do' their art so well, in a way that speaks so intimately to me. and the 'firefly' and 'serenity' projects involve several of these someones. fabulous job, one and all!

i'm somewhat sad that i've seen all there is to see of it now. all there is to see so far anyway...

You should get Nathan (Our Captain) Fillion's SLiTHER DVD. It is loaded with very funny extras and the movie is funny and slimey. If you watch the extra Who is Bill Pardy, you will understand why those of us who have think the sentence "I'm Bill Pardy" is so funny. Nathan's character is Sheriff Bill Pardy.

i was aware of this 'slither' business of his. truth to tell, i'm a bit easy to shiver, though i don't have no gripe with slithers (the creature) in specific. i'll check it out, for the outtakes if nothing else.
i think all films should add 'em. one of the things i love about jackie chan- besides the movies themselves.
"blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused" maybe my alltime fav quote. scores big points with me! and while it has naught to do with acting ability per se, i'll get endeared to an actor (or singer or writer or my mama or...) type even more if she/he's goofy and willing to do it in public.

That there is a quote I hold close to mine own heart....

As a budding writer myself (my strengths are, according to my writing teacher, humour and character interaction, though I see myself as a hack)) I LOVE character interaction, or Banter, and Firefly has it in spades.

Welcome aboard! No such thing as too late, as long as you found Firefly.

i've just started to incorporate more humor in my work, mostly theatre, but not sure how affective yet! it's a great vehicle for anything, really. i can really relate the edgy humor in firefly et al. more than anything else, this probably sealed the deal.

We like to give the newbies our special Mudder's

It's from the song Long Way Home by Norah Jones.

Hehe, my friend, don't overdo the Mudder's
as there's a real danger of being overwhelmed
by vertigo while wandering about the catwalks
and up or down the airy stairs.

Caption games announce themselves by having
the word (and a Round # designation) in their
titles. Usually there are two going, either
collecting captions or in vote-and-bump-up
mode.

There are some really good captioners.
And me.
The more, the merrier.
