Has anyone else seen the new Orbitz gum commercial? I was flipping channels and there it was.

There are two women facing off in a martial arts fight, one Asian and one white. They start to fight and the white girl kicks, breaking the Asian girl's nail. The Asian girl then exclaims, "Tchen wah!" The spokeswoman then says, "Dirty mouth?" and offers the gum.

This was hi-larious to my husband and I, because we all know from Firefly that "tchen wah" means whore/slut. The commercial was a lot funnier knowing that. (Sorry about the spelling of the mandarin chinese...it's probably wrong).

Yay for shiny Firefly moments like those!

I always did think there was something oddly sinister about those ads...Blue Sun secretly funding them?

Great commercial. I'm pretty sure the gum is called Orbit (for those who want to support the sponsors who curse in Chinese). Orbitz is the travel site.

The Asian girl in that commercial is Adrienne Wong. She is incredible. We just wrapped shooting a short film with her on Sunday. We're in post production on that now. Here's a photo from the set.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Finally got to see this commercial. Very funny. Even more so when you know what the Chinese means.

Thanks for the heads up on the actress and movie Varan. Keep us informed.

If you are on the West Coast. Turn Food Network on Now. The commercial should be on during Sara's Secret (4:30-5:00). It MIGHT even show up before Essence of Emeril is over.

If you miss it today, you probably can catch it during this same time for the rest of the week.
