RugBug! Good to see you post again. Even if it was just briefly.

And yeah it can suck sometimes looking at how much of your life is overrun by work, but I guess that's how the system is setup. And you still get to ride and you enjoy that. So, it's not all bad.

I disagree. "Y" is just a bit more of a bully than "X" and "Z". It's equally as useless and decided to to steal some of "I"'s thunder. If anything "I" needs to be reprimanded for allowing it to happen and "Y" should get a slap on the wrist.

"I" yeilding to "y" can't be much of a surprise. "I" is a the doormat of letters. Seriously, pick one already: Before or after "e". Don't look at "c"...take a stand on your own.

"Y" is strong and bold. It says 'Use me. I'm not whimpy like that pesky little "i". I proudly take my place at the end of many cool words instead of hiding in the middle. And there's that TV show that made up it's own syntax by adding me to words. It was written by some pop culture phenom-y type guy. Joss something-or-other.'

What the hell was that? Conversation just flew right over me.

Still, regardless of the mundane parts of life (we all got 'em) I think I am pretty happy with myself right now. Seems I thought I was before but allowed myself to totally F it up.

Ok now attempting to get myself psyched up for an hour long pep assembly in which 1300 hyper kids are encouraged to scream as loud as possible and yell things in a confined space( auditorium) and then after that the exciting treat of spending an extra 5 hours at school waiting for parents ( who are likely not coming) to come visit with me and be all frustrated that I am not doing enough to help their kid.... YIPPEE!!!!!

The ones in High School were the worst. Wo freakin' hoo, support the football/basketball team. Yay. Our school sucked at both so there was no helping them. They should have been cheering on the Wrestlers, Rodeo, Automotive, and the Cheerleaders. They actually went on to win stuff all through my few years there.

Gawd...I LOVED the elementary school assemblies. Anyone remember the People Mover ones? The Warm Fuzzies and the Cold Pricklies (sp?).

And spelling bees? There really aren't enough spelling bees for adults. I love spelling (and yet I can't figure out how to spell the plural of prickly). gnilleps is my FAVORITE Cranium category. :D

Isn't that something to do with selling stuff to "benefit" the school? More BS I learned as a kid in Jr High. I already knew the profit margin offered by the company was dick. I'd rather collect aluminum cans or bust my ass for a few hours cleaning yards or splitting wood for money I could call all my own. Damn. Forgot I need to get a move on with more fun side work stuff. Oh well. It'll pay for something fun in the near future.

You forget that "X" marks the spot. As any pirate. This forum has plenty of pirates so you should have no trouble finding one. I am suprised one has not brought this up all ready.

It is vital that "X" marks the spot and thus deserves as good a place in the alphabet as "Y".

Just don't ask "Y".

That was a pun.

Sure it is. ANGER! FIRE! BURNBURNBURN!!!

Naw Mob, anger is not good for you. I spent too much time angry that once I was away from it I got really sick from the vacuum created when it left. Imagine the amount of negative energies we feed off of when we are truly angry for a long amount of time. I learned to functionin stressful situations without anger so well that the non stressful things I did were often interfered with by the anger I had supressed from the actual stressors. Talk about twisted and such.

So yeah, it is best to get that anger out at the time of the stress. Anger is a good motivator but if relied upon too long it becomes a problem, almost an addiction.

for MSB. Hope your classes treat you better.

Focused anger... I don't know, anger usually prevents me from focusing on anything at all, and I often find that aiming my ire at someone or something in particular is not a very healthy and/or productive thing to do. I guess I tend to think of it as a waste of energy.

Yeah, I've been known to have bouts of hardheaded pragmatism here & there

Oh and I agree that overblown anger is never any good.

I think I know what you mean. I've spent a great deal of time dwelling on anger and mistrust. I managed to snap out of it when I entered College, but then I fell into depression because I didn't "recognize" myself anymore.

I see we are defining anger a bit differently... for me anger is that sense of injustice or a lack of balance that makes you want to fix things... rage is the irrational fire where you want to destroy or tear down. So that's why I said controlled anger is good. It's a driving force, but yes I'd agree if it's all that sustains you, not a good thing.

Anger is not good for me. My history is to filled with hate that anger just goes into the black.

Ther have been times I have been so angry that I find myself stopped at a red light and can not remember driving my car for several miles. I don't remember the traffic or what turns or stops I've made. This is in the city so you know I was in traffic and had to have stopped at intersections along the way. It is like realising you have been blind for fifteen minutes without knowing it.

And I should not be around other people. So I curb any thoughts that I know will get me angery.

mornin' Imponderables.

Anger is good, and can be fun. It's much better to get it out than to try and calm down by other means. In my experience, it is going to come out eventually, and the longer you bottle it up, the worse that event will be. Hell, if I hadn't let my anger out on a regular (read: daily) basis for the past few months I'd probably be in jail right now for doing something really bad.

There is an interesting cable channel concept. The Anger Channel with live video feed from The Breakables Room displayed in the upper left corner of the screen when the camera senses movement. Gameshows featuring people in very active obstacle courses and doing frustrating puzzle games until they rage and break stuff. Of course later in the evening it'll feature Gladiator sports and later movies featuring angry sex. Yeah, mind is not up to par this morning. Think I need a spot of coffee.

I think anger is ABSOLUTELY necessary to life. People who don't get angry freak me out.

BUT...the most important part, in my opinion, is how that anger is manifest. Any type of uncontrolled lashing out, be it verbal or physical is Bad. The ability to recognize your anger and channel it into positive outlets is vital. Pissed off? Go running. Hit a punching bag. Spontaneous physical release is bad, too, IMO. You've got to be able to control the anger enough to get to a place where outlet is appropriate. Things like punching a wall may release the aggression/anger...but they are douche-baggy and show a lack of self-control (which I find frightening).
