What Firefly means to me.

I am relatively new to the scene here, but I think you'll listen anyways. I'm sitting here watching Firefly and it really just hit my why it is so important, to me, to everyone that this series exists. We are in a world where the push is for more and more control, more homogeneity restrictive freedoms and a real lack of heroes willing to take up a losing fight. People with a will and a way to make things actually happen. Real leadership is so hard to find these days. Personally I relate to Mal the best, always the center of responsibility that should be far above my pay grade. The show gives me hope that there are others out there who understand what those on the edge are going through, those of us who have stared at the blackness and felt it staring back. Every day seems to be a struggle to belong, no just to anywhere, but to be somewhere that is home, somewhere that matters. I know I can do more...I can make it happen... anyone else out there?

I'm with you watcher. I feel the same way very often. Grinding out the college classes, doing the slave waging thing, wondering if there is a place out there for me at the end of it. But I know in my heart of hearts there isn't. You have to make that place. The merrit of your work, your honesty, and your needs do not mean anything to anybody that isn't going to love you. Although we're too pretty for God to let us die... he won't be throwing us any lucky breaks anytime soon.

P.S. Stay out of the RWED board if you can help it. You'll be happier for it. Nobody goes there to have their mind changed. Only go there if you absolutely can not let something stand without having your say. I've made, maybe, 2 worthwhile posts there. Every other time it was pointless.

Thanks for the reassurance, and fortunately I can make things happen. I will make it happen, me and God have had this chat just we are having a bit of an argument on whether or not I get out alive, God says yes and I say no, but if I was docile I don't think he'd think I was so pretty. RWED is great, I love stringing people along, especially since I am far overeducated. I mean my job is manipulating people took me a while to get over the lack of ethics it takes to do. I'm thinking about putting together a production quality fan film, just working out the details of financial feasibility. I guess I just wish I didn't have to do it all myself sometimes, ya know? Oh BTW, I am massively mood based so I guess being a bit crazy helps me keep from drowning.

Well, sometimes I just let my mind get ahead of itself. I am perpetually 3 steps ahead, but sometimes that doesn't seem enough. Right now though, it's enough. Like I said, extremely influenced by my moods
