Ni-Howdy, Browncoats,

Would you like to have Cedric from the Bedlam Bards perform at your local Can't Stop the Serenity screening? Well, here's how:

In order to raise both funds and awareness for Equality Now, I am auctioning myself on eBay. Well, technically, I'm auctioning a performance at the Can't Stop the Serenity screening of your choice. Even better, the profits from the auction go to the CSTS screening of your choice, so it's a double whammy, but in a good way!

But wait, that's not all! You also get steak knives. Steak knives? To heck with the gorram steak knives, you get something a lot shinier than that.

A number of Browncoat artisans and celebrities have come forward to donate these prizes which the auction winner GETS TO KEEP:

-Autographed Poster* {from Quantum Mechanix}
-Autographed Bedlam Bards CDs
-Autographed Done The Impossible DVD and Soundtrack CD {from Brian Wiser}
-Autographed Browncoat Cruise Souvenir Book {from Brian Wiser}
-Independent Flag {from Firefly Cargo Bay}
-Jayne Hat {from Ma Cobb's Hat Shoppe www.geocities.com/fadingendlessly}
-Mal's Holster and Ammo Belt** {from www.browncoatfashions.com}
-Plus a built-up Mal Pistol***, Jayne Pistol, grenade, PAL Communicator and a Zoe 'Mare's Leg' Winchester {from Wilco models}

*Poster autographed by: Fillion, Tudyk, Minear, Fairman, Edmonson, Woodward, Sonny Rhodes, Nectar Rose, Adam Levermore-Rich (who did the art for the poster), and the Bedlam Bards. A similar poster fetched over $150 at auction

**Holster and Ammo Belt - The "standard" gun belt size will fit people with hips in the range of 40 to 50 inches. The winner should specify their actual hip measurement if they need a gun belt larger or smaller in size. The holster and gun belt come with an ammo pouch suitable for carrying an extra set of clips, a cell phone, or an iPod. It's like the one Mal wore in Serenity. This item typically sells for $160 + S&H

*** The Wilco Models replica of Mal's Pistol fits in the Browncoat Fashions holster.

Wow, if I weren't ineligible, I'd be bidding just to win that stuff!

So here's the info on the auction:

Item number: 120225274158

http://tinyurl.com/26qxts

This listing lasts only 10 days, so bid early and bid often!

I'll see you at your screening,

Cedric

P.S. Please feel free to spread the word and post this message everywhere you can. Let the whole gorram 'verse know what we Browncoats are doing!

What a time to be unemployed. I don't have enough in the bank to even attempt to bid. Good luck bidders and I hope the winner pays an arm and a leg. Look out for those snipers with high speed internet access. They'll get ya.

Don't forget, you can always organize a group bid with your local Browncoats!

We're up to $455 on day two. It's a ten-day auction, so there's plenty of time to spread the word and get your friends working together on this.

Go Browncoats!

We'll just have to decide that on a case-by-case basis.

Am I the only person who thinks it's ironic to be auctioning myself for an organization that opposes human trafficking?

The winner is technically only renting you, which is perfectly acceptable wage slave behavior.

They might even be possibly only borrowing you for promotional considerations maybe. Technicalities, meh!

Check those flight prices to Utah, MsB can be quite the motivator.

Thanks, earthgirl. :)

The lower travel expenses will help, as the auction has essentially wiped me out financially for the year. However, it is for a good cause.

Shall I assume that you were my great and worthy opponent? If so, then I must congratulate you as well; $4010 was my absolute last bid, and I was shocked that it was enough. I was pretty certain that I had no chance after my $3680 bid held up for less than two minutes.

I am working at getting a venue for our screening, and I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully, it will draw a good crowd. As much as I would like to hold on to some of the shiny swag I just purchased, most or all of it will probably be auctioned off at the screening, if we can get high enough bids.

If you find that you are going to be in the Houston area, earthgirl, look us up (houstonbrowncoats.com), jump on our messageboard, and let us know; we shindig at least a couple of times per month, and would be glad to see you.

I try to stay below the radar most of the time, so my waves are often difficult to trace.

Ah, no, I was not your opponent. Cedric did ask me to keep tabs on the bidding and keep bumping this thread as he was going to be out of range of internet access these past few days. I do not know who eventually made you spend so much!

That's certainly very generous of you to not only bid so much, but then donate the swag to the auction. You are a tribute to Browncoats! :)

Thanks for the invite, but I'm located on the outer rim here in Canada. I'll be in Texas for the Browncoat Ball though! All paid up for that! See yo then maybe!

As long as the number of stars isn't how many I can see through the hole in the roof, I'm sure the accomodations will be fine.
