MsB, no biggie, you know I worry about you a lot though. I'm glad to see that it was just you taking a much-needed day of rest.

And so it is that we, as men, do not exist until we do; and then it is that we play with our world of existent things, and order and disorder them, and so it shall be that Non-existence shall take us back from Existence, and that nameless Spirituality shall return to Void, like a tired child home from a very wild circus.

Yes, even if that reason isn't apparent to or even related to the person the thing is happening to, everything does indeed happen for a reason.

ZEEK

Now this is a good start to a Monday. I'd been working on getting a second estimate on my fender bender repairs cause $575 for this tiny little ding just felt wrong even if it's not my money paying for it. Went to a place that got good reviews on yahoo and the guy looks at it and tells me to go buy a little vile of touch up paint from the dealership and he'll do the rest for free. Now that sounds more like it. I was going to feel awful calling this girl and asking for $575. That's one weight off my shoulders.

Does everything happen for a reason: Heart says, "Yes, the world is a wonderful place where all events happen for a reason". Head says, "Not a chance. There's no such thing as fate. Life is what we make it." My problem is that I'm a very logical person. So, I have never really gotten too into any sort of faith. I'm actually a catholic, but I'm far from a full believer. I sorta play take it or leave it with all the rules and beliefs. If I don't see a good reason for it then I just don't believe in it. So, just like with this I can't logically see how everything is happening for a reason.

It doesn't have to be a religious or faith based reason, just a reason. Say someone you love gets killed by a falling piano. It could be that the only reason it happens is because of the gravitational attraction between the piano and the ground.

Ok, that was a lame attempt at humor.

It's funny, you know, I profess not to have any religion (well, I classify myself as a Pastafarian Discordian, but most people wouldn't count that) yet I still feel some sort of connection in these sort of events that is not completely logical. This of course baffles me because I don't like to believe in anything that I can't experience with my own senses, but I have had the feeling that things happen a certain way because they're supposed to. Maybe that's just common, everyday paranoia setting in. *shrug*

SISTER

Thought you might enjoy a passage from a book I just finished. It is being related by the explorer Marco Polo years after his return from more than a decade of living with the Mongols. Oh, and "Orlok" is a mongol 'rank' like major:
"Once, when I road with the Mongol army, I notice a war horse galloping along in one of the columns, neatly keeping gait and place with troops, handsomely caparisoned in leather body armor, with sword and lance in scabbard - but the horse's saddle was empty. The Orlok Bayan told me, 'That was the steed of a good warrior named Jangar. It bore him into many battles in which he fought bravely, and into his last battle, in which he perished. Jangar's horse will continue to ride with us, fully armed, as long as its heart calls it to battle.'
The Mongols knew well that even a horse would prefer to fall in combat, or run until its heart failed, than be retired to lush pasture and uselessness and the idle waiting, waiting, waiting."
Kinda reminded me of the "You hold, you hold 'til I get back" from Serenity.

Just wondering... weirdness abounds in my life...and my principal wasn't letting me leave on the 21st and now the people buying the house want to close on the 28th which gives me time to finish out my contract and pack... hmm weird

DANCINGNEKO

Hi.

Random order:
Things happening for a reason: Probably, but I'm starting to think it's 'cause the universe could use a good laugh (I must be a punchline somewhere)...

Anger -- if it's an "I'll show them" and is used to make the situation better then yes, it's positive. If it's more of a hate/destroy it's probably negative...

Last week's silence -- because it's that time of the school year again when teachers are going stark raving mad, and the kids are sliding until they get the shock of their lives ("I'm FLUNKING?!?")

Retirement: Back in October of this school year. I'm really considering how badly I want to finish and get tenure, and if I want to stay here...it doesn't look like MN is going to be an option I'm chasing though...

Birthday: A week away from work and that day spent quietly with those closest to me hanging out and doing whatever strikes our interest.

Meh...I have sucky taste in men. I've picked losers, liars, and probably chased away the "good" ones...I give up.
