We are nearing 850 reviews at Amazon.com (848 to be exact). Most new reviews are definitely by people who picked up the series because they heard from somewhere (some say the reviews themselves) that it was good. That is good that the word is getting out there. I have also noticed that many of these reviewers do not know that a movie will be coming out. Well, Browncoats, we have one gorram job to get the word out there. We need to find ways to make people knowledgable the movie is coming. The Internet is a powerful resource so if you have access to a message board or chat room then post something about Firefly and Serenity and get a little conversation going. This is one way to get converts. There is even a site out there where you can download Firefly episodes if you want to give them a little taste if they are skepitical. Keep flying, Browncoats! No one can defeat us if we do.

Remember that only one review per person. You might think that you are doing some good but people will notice this and think that most of the reviews are bogus as has already been stated by some people. So lets play by the rules and only post one review per person. And that doesn't count multiple personalities.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Out of curiousity, how are people 'browsing' amazon coming across Firefly? Is there some list of 'top reviewed' DVDs or something?

People usually find the unexpected like Firefly by searching for one thing, and seeing it recommended. Or someone looking for Joss Whedon stuff would find it. i'm not sure about the Top Reviewed though...

Some people also look at the Top Sellers list when they know they want something new, but aren't really sure what they're in the mood for.

I know I've done that from time to time, sometimes it works all good, sometimes...not so much.

Yeah, but Firefly's quite a few pages into the Top Sellers list by now...probably in the 75-100 page or so; if it's still getting people buying it from that list, that would be great!

True, probably is down a tad from when it was first released. If you go by the UK Amazon numbers though...wouldn't be surprised if there was some cross-bleeding there.

What would be nice to see is the add campaign for the Big Damn Movie piggybacked up with an add for the Firefly boxed set. Some people may see the trailer for the movie and think it looks pretty nifty but could never have heard of the series before. Seems to me that'd be a good marketing move there.
