I know that this site is about the TV show and movie Firefly/Serenity but has anyone wrote any thing about other Firefly class transport ships.I read somewhere that there is about 40,000 Firefly class trasport ship in the 'Verse so it possible to write about other crews.

quadruple post, lol. I would probably say's its possible to write about another crew but I don't think any group of actors/characters could ever compare to crew of Serenity.

I seriously doubt there were still 40,000 Firefly's still flyin' by the time Mal bought his. Most likely 40,000 just refers to the number of ships built. I'd be willing to bet that only a third are still in the air and only half or less are capable of traversing long distances i.e. across the system or from core-outer rim. I could be wrong. And though I don't think it's canonically the QMX reference pack mentions an 04 model currently in the works with twice the cargo capacity and larger crew quarters and passenger dorms.

There's definitely room for other tales to be written on life aboard a Firefly class transport. I could even see someone doing one set during the war onboard a military Firefly.

Might be better to set up a pre war story for Serenity herself. Could even be an evac situation like the whole Dunkirk thing in WWII.

Darkfly,
If you read my message, you will see the reason for the three messages. I am not worried about other actors/characters comparing to the Serenity crew, what I am after is getting the public interested in Firefly once more. Look at the Star War books or even Star Trek for that matter, the authors used the basic outline of the orginal setting and went from there.
Remember in the first show "Serenity", Shepherd Book was approached by another crew member of a driffent Firefly, I do not remember the name of that ship but there is possible story line. Also in the movie "Serenity", when the crew landed to met the two brothers, in the background there were several other Fireflies in dock.
So the possiblly is there.

That sounds wierd. They are refurbishing an '04 model and expanding various compartments? kinda goofy for a 13/14 year old craft, why not just use a newer design? Or are they saying they are designing a -17 or -18 model, based upon the 2 decade old Firefly series of craft? Making in 2517 or 2518 an Ought Four model for production in 2504 sounds kinda wacky.
