Well, I'm back, so...

Aloha kakahiaka, mornin', Browncoats!

Manual mornin' stats BOMP!

(Nice to see Rallem's back! Time for some more Red Dwarf, next vote!)

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting.

You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Voting efficiently (i.e., with minimal time between votes, over the requisite 60 minutes) is crucial to maximizing your voting power. Download FlyVote by FlyVote (a fellow Browncoat voter, so, you know the program is good!). It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

This is a NEW version of the program, with new features, including buttons to all three "portals" to the voting page, in case one is working, or is overloaded, as well as a button to reset the timer, for those occasions when it gets out of sync, because you don't minimize it immediately after voting. Simply hit the reset and then minimize and you are back on a 1 hour schedule. Download it to replace the older version.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 598,284 (597,510)

Total votes Xena: 484,712 (484,218)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 774 times.

Yesterday, Xenites voted 494 times.

(Xenites voted 280 times less than Browncoats, yesterday.

Yesterday, Browncoat votes fell by an average of 130.5; Xenite votes fell by 132.

Firefly is 113,572 (113,292) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #23 show Star Trek: The Original Series 111,761. That puts us at 11,428 (11,708) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 40.81 days!

We'll get our next banner, for our next big goal, 600,000 votes, in another 1,716 (2,490) votes, and, another 2.22 days!

6,419,446 (6,409,959) votes have been counted as of 03/25/08. Yesterday, 9,487 votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast in that period, we needed to vote 949 times, of which we fell short by 175 votes. Our share fell to 9.3198703% of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

Clearly, I wasn't the only one on vacation, and, some folks haven't gotten back, yet. The numbers will improve, once folks recover from spring break, Easter, the Vernal Equinox, and, Daylight Savings. Meanwhile, we all need to do the best we can to keep the numbers up.

-Raycheetah =^[.]^=

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 411 votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 230 votes, yesterday, in 187.08 days. BSG is also in pursuit of the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 14,931 (15,342) votes, and, 36.33 days, away!

#7 show Buffy got 452 votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 256 votes, yesterday, in 83.21 days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 42,387 (42,839) votes, and, 93.78 days, away, while Farscape is 101.87 days from getting there, first.

Buffy's ahead in the Hall of Fame race!

#10 show Angel got 364 votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass #9 show Combat!, which received 330 votes, yesterday, in 299.91 days. Angel needs to pick up the vote, again, in order to catch Combat!

#11 show Jericho got 513 votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass Angel in 26.3 days.

#33 show Dark Shadows got 285 votes, and, is currently on track to pass #32 show, Star Trek: DS9, which received 175 votes, yesterday, in 4.78 days.

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll:

#50 show (#10 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight Total votes 24,245 (23,983)

Moonlight got 262 votes, yesterday, not passing any shows. It will take at least 10 more days to pass Wagon Train.

AND...

Surface 5837
The Last Chapter (mini) 5805
The Virginian (1962) 5774

That's 109 nominations votes, and two shows passed, not too shabby, this week!

FT - Spring Break? A little behind aren't we? LOLOLOLOL

Ray - We've missed you. Hope you had a great time, but we're really glad you're back.

As for the Surface stats, yesterday was a bit of a disaster. While you've been gone, I got the numbers way up from there. We got a new record of 169, but average between 130 - 140 each day.

Yesterday we only needed 125 (or so) to pass the next three shows and set up for taking down Heroes (a two day jump) 109 was pretty horrible and the lowest number in a couple of weeks.

VOMP (Surface) x 2

Traevynn - No need to apologize. I recognize that everyone is doing the best they can. I just get frustrated at times, when the numbers are off in spite of my efforts.

It's such a long way to the top.

Sis - My kids Spring Break (Jr. High) was over two weeks ago. I kinda figured everyone's pretty much is. Thanks for the info.

And now it's time for the

Surface Daily Report
(I was able to get it out early this morning, so that should help, so ignore my frustration)

--------------------------------------------------------------
What happened yesterday? We have been averaging 130 + Noms each day, and only needed 125 to pass The Rookies and set up for taking down Heroes. It should have been easy.

Now, I want you Surface fans to understand why this is significant. After Reilly cancelled Surface, the next season he put on Heroes, which averaged only 1 million more viewers than Surface's 9 million plus average.

Yet while Surface was considered a failure, Heroes was treated as the show which "saved the network" and made Reilly into some kind of hero, which explains how he got his job at FOX, where he can now weild the ax above shows like The Sarah Conner Chronicles and other qualitry shows. (He was considering cancelling that. recently, btw.)

I want to take Heroes down badly. I hope you'll really pour it on so we can take our rightful place ABOVE that show, on the list. It will take us a couple of days.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday we got 109 Nominations, way down from our current average of 130 + We must do better. It's a long way to the top of this list. I'm not on anyone's case, I understand that we all have lives, but we must find additional people willing to help us if we are going to get to the top before the year is out.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The Virginian has moved back to Maryland

The Last Chapter (Part I) is filing Chapter 13 as they are bankrupt.

Surface 5837 (109)
The Last Chapter (mini) 5805
The Virginian (1962) 5774
--------------------------------------------------------------
Please note: I am using a new format for diplaying the shows targetted..

The number in parentheses, next to each show, is the previous day's nom total (if available)
Between each show, is the number of noms to the next show.

Heroes 6209 (12)

357

The Rookies 5852 (0)

15

Surface 5837 (109)

I just flew in from Hawai'i, and, boy, are my arms tired...! Well, they oughtta be, since the missus and I set up all our luggage as about 40 lbs (18kg) of carry-ons, each, to avoid chasing it across the world.

Still wrestling with jet-lag; my sleep schedule is already a bizarre mess, without throwing in a six-hour time zone differential and a 16-hour return trip (including layovers in three airports on the way). S'okay, I tend to recover pretty gorram quickly from these things. It was the 900+ emails and absorbing all the data from over two weeks of missed voting that took a while to catch up on.

But, man, it was worth it! We left (and, returned to) freezing temps at home in SC to spend two weeks where the temp got no cooler than comfortable sixties on a rainy Hilo night, and, the days ranged between the seventies and eighties.

Yes, we both got tans, which are now being attacked by "haole rot," earning them in places like Punalu'u black sand beach, where, on St. Patrick's Day morning, we saw 4 honu (sea turtles), two basking on the sand, two eating and playing in the water of a tide-pool. We also trekked out onto the recent cooled lava flow (there has been an ongoing eruption from the Pu'u O'o vent, on the flank of Kilauea, since 1983, but, we caught it on a quiet day, only dimly observing the lava through the steam as it cascaded into the sea.

There's so much more, but, I'd almost need my own thread to bore y'all with it. Once we get the photos onto the computer, I might post a couple...

Aloha VOMP!

The help Jstn wants is for noming Surface

Actually, there's a little to-do list for noms in this thread- John Doe for tex, Moonlight for Ray, Surface for Jstn, and of course, Red Dwarf for you. I've been kind altrenating, spending a day mostly for one, and the next day for another, and so forth.

And welcome back, Ray! Glad to see you- we missed you, and nomed Moonlight for you

Vomp for John, Surface next

VOMP (John Doe agin)

Thanks for explaining to Rallem, Leopard.

Yep, Surface is my show. Kinda thought it was obvious from my sig. LOLOL

Although, I don't often mention it, everytime I vote, I include Dark Shadows for Ray, and Buffy, which is in a desperate race with another show to the next level.

My Noms revolve around Surface, John Doe, and Red Dwarf.

I don't figure Moonlight needs the help, with so many supporters, so that Nom goes to John Doe as well.

The higher the Surface numbers come up every day, the more I'm able to kick in Noms for other shows.

Ray - Rather then bore me with your Hawaii stories, you jst make me jealous. We've got that weather, but little else like that. Feel free to share.

Thanks for the help Rallem. I'll write up something about Surface for you, but I will tell you this. If you can find someone with the DVD or find it on I-Tunes or something, watch the last scene in Episode 2 (fishing boat) and the opening scene in Episode 3 (parasailing).

If you watch those two scenes and aren't totally hooked, you probably won't like the show.

I have hooked lots of people who are now fanatical, by showing them those two scenes.

VOMP (Surface)

Rallem - A show about the sea? Yes, but so much more. New life-forms, a boy and his "unusual pet", clones, a worldwide, decades long conspirarcy, a young woman scientist and a man investigating his brothers strange death, who discover all this, and tsunamis.

That's about as brief a description as I can come up with. It's a bit like trying to write a paragraph explaining "Dune"

Thanks, FT! I was actually able to get the Top 40 and Noms raws for the time I was gone from a Dark Shadows colleague, but, thank you for the help.
