Manual mornin' stats VOMP!

(Nom to the Dwarf!)

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting.

You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Voting efficiently (i.e., with minimal time between votes, over the requisite 60 minutes) is crucial to maximizing your voting power. Download FlyVote by FlyVote (a fellow Browncoat voter, so, you know the program is good!). It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

This is a NEW version of the program, with new features, including buttons to all three "portals" to the voting page, in case one isn't working, or is overloaded, as well as a button to reset the timer, for those occasions when it gets out of sync, because you don't minimize it immediately after voting. Simply hit the reset and then minimize and you are back on a 1 hour schedule. Download it to replace the older version.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 612,359 (611,304)

Total votes Xena: 492,827 (492,322)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,055 (994) times.

Yesterday, Xenites voted 505 (540) times.

(Xenites voted 550 (454) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.

Yesterday, Browncoat votes rose by 61; Xenite votes fell by 35.

Firefly is 119,532 (118,982) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #23 show Star Trek: The Original Series 115,083. That puts us at 5,468 (6,018) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 9.94 (13.26) days!

We'll get our next banner, for 615,000 votes, in another 2,641 (3,696), and, 2.5 (3.72) days!

Our next, big goal, 625,000 votes, is 12,641 (13,696) votes, and, 11.98 (13.78) days away!

6,594,448 (6,581,981) votes have been counted as of 04/08/08. Yesterday, 12,467 (11,833) votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast in that period, we needed to vote 1,247 (1,184) times, of which we fell short by 192 votes. Our share fell to 9.2859788% (9.2875389%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shall we?):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 562 (524) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 297 (257) votes, yesterday, in 115.26 (115.39) days. BSG is also in pursuit of the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 7,342 (7,904) votes, and, 13.06 (15.08) days, away!

#7 show Buffy got 601 (564) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 338 (346) votes, yesterday, in 51 (62.74) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 34,603 (35,204) votes, and, 57.58 (62.42) days, away, while Farscape 62.69 (62.22) days from getting there, first.

Buffy's surging ahead in the Hall of Fame race! Let's vote to keep her there!

#10 show Angel got 538 (500) votes, yesterday. Angel is currently receiving enough votes to pass #9 show Combat!, which received 326 (346) votes, yesterday, in 39.51 (55.77) days (#11 show Jericho got 701 (596) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass Angel in 2.98 (6.76) days).

#30 show Dark Shadows got 383 (368) votes, yesterday, and is receiving enough votes to pass #29 show Charmed, which got 263 (205) votes, in 37.1 (28.05) days. Our Vampire Flan friends could really use some help; unless you have compelling reason not to, might click that extra box, when you cast your other Top 40 vote(s), return them the kindness they've done us, when we've needed help.

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll:

#48 show (#8 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight Total votes 28,719 (28,420).

Moonlight got 299 (280) votes, yesterday, passing Scoop. Moonlight is the new #48 show! It will take 10.23 (11.85) days to pass #47 show Lancer.

AND...

Tour of Duty 8233
Drive (2007) 8183
Surface 8100
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood 8023

Another show passed, and we got 161 Nominations votes, topping 8,000 votes! It's another 83 votes to pass Drive, so, we'll pass it, and Tour of Duty, by, easy, tomorrow.

VOMP (Surface)

ROFL at the title, FT. You are so mean. LOLOLOL

Couldn't post last night, but I kept on voting. Got in at least 15, including three each for J.D. and R.D. I believe (can't always keep track)

Anyway (puts on earmuffs) it's time for

(BOOMING VOICE)

THE SURFACE DAILY REPORT

Yesterday we got 161 Nominations. Down a few from yesterday, but still a respectable number.

Overall, we had a good day in our neighborhood, while poor ol' Fred didn't have such a good day with no Noms.

Today, we should easily take down Drive. Not only that but since you voted so well yesterday, we should also be able to take down the show after that Tour Of Duty. We need 134 to pass both, however since they added a new high to their average yestarday, we'd better expect that today.

That means the magic number for today is 148. Easy for us right? Go, go, go Nimsters.

TAKE NOTE : Only a few shows up is Maverick, which holds the lowest position on the chart of the Top 20 in the Nominations poll. I want that position (for a start LOL)

Maverick Status : 11302 (48 yesterday)

We only have 29 more shows to the top of the list. 9 more to the Top 20.

To see the Top 20 Nominations Chart, click the "Click here for daily totals" link below the Top 40 box. Scroll to the bottom.

Let's get our numbers back to that 200 Nom level. get your friends to help again. Have them sign up at savesurface so they'll receive these reminders too.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday, we breezed by Mr Roger's Neighborhood so fast that ol' Fred had to put on an extra sweater. Give him a respectful wave. It's the last we've seen of him.

VOMP (Surface) last time

VOMP (John Doe) this time

Upcoming Red Dwarf for Rallem.

Tex - If you read this, know that I read your questions about Surface and Nim yesterday and I'm trying to figure out how to tell you about it, without too many spoilers.

What I can say is that if you like quality programming (like Firefly, of course) you would not be disappointed. Quite literally, everybody I have loaned my DVD to has become a fan.

Here's a link to Amazon, where it's available for only $15.49 A little over a dollar an episode.

A bargain, as I paid $40 originally.

http://www.amazon.com/Surface-Complete-F%C3%A9lix-Enr%C3%ADquez-Alcal%
C3%A1/dp/B000FJH5M2

Say, the description from that site should provide you with some idea about the show, so here goes...

(btw, Nim is the one Miles raises from the egg)

----------------------------------

Surface lasted one season on NBC before cancellation, but Surface: The Complete Series on DVD will keep the show's exciting, Spielbergian suspense around for a long while. The primetime drama, involving several characters--in different parts of the world--all having similar brushes with fantastic creatures, instantly draws comparisons to Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Add a government conspiracy (complete with a cover story to force one community's evacuation) to prevent the public from learning of the existence of a previously unknown life form, and the parallels with Close Encounters grow thick. But it's not a problem: the many twists and turns in Surface's far-ranging storyline, and the nature of the species that slowly becomes a factor in the survival of the human race, are compelling on their own terms.

Created by twin brothers and television writers-producers-directors Josh and Jonas Pate (L.A. Dragnet), Surface stars rangy beauty Lake Bell as oceanographer and single mom Dr. Laura "Dee" Daughtery. While doing some research in a submersible at the bottom of the sea, Dee discovers a seemingly bottomless pit leading to astonishing depths in the Earth. But she also bumps into a sea monster that emanates electrical charges strong enough to wreak havoc with her vessel. Meanwhile, a Louisiana-based insurance salesman, Rich (Jay R. Ferguson), is traumatized when he sees his brother dragged away by a similar creature, and a 14-year-old boy, Miles (Carter Jenkins), raises one of the beasts after it hatches from an egg. Throughout all this, a scientist (Rade Sherbedgia) and a heavy-handed national security agent (Ian Anthony Dale) are trying to unlock the mystery of the species, which appears to be growing in number at the same time strange forces are affecting the oceans.

Thanks for mentioning that Ray.

I always recommend that people watch the end of episode 2 (102) and the beginning of episode 3 (103) to see if they will like the show.

Well Hula doesn't have #3 available, but they do have #2, so watch that and pay close attention to the end. It will blow your mind. Prepare to become a Nimster, just as sure as I became a Browncoat.

hulu is an on line way to watch episodic t.v. - 'with limited commercial interruptions." All episodes of Firefly are available; along with current episodes of shows from I believe one network. vumpsurfnom

VOMP (3rd John Doe)

I don't think Tex backreads the thread so she missed the explanation of Hula, and both of my posts to her, as well as the John Doe Report.

Vomp for the blood-covered midget.

Minor, minor issue here: You know how FlyVote keeps popping up as a "small" window, and even if you maximize it, it'll keep coming back as a small window? How do you fix that, if it can be fixed?

NOT a VOMP

Just had to post these links, for those of you who enjoyed that story a couple of weeks back about the idiot robber who left his phone number at the place he was robbing.

Gotta wonder how many of these morons are running around...

No way that I know of, other than to learn to code your own, or ask Flyvote real nice the next time you see him.
