Still #2, and will be for a while, but there're other shows (Jericho, Buffy, BSG & occasionally others) that get more votes. Is there any objection to me tracking our daily votes against whomever else (in the Top10 for now) gets the most votes that day? Yeah, yeah, my numbers, I can do what I want, blah, blah. I'm just asking if there's any 'value added' to be found here. Doing the work is a non-issue, it's just a few lines of code.

Quote: Given that, remember a few things. 1/ Do a "logistics run" around the yard, picking up obvious "hazards" such as toys and rocks and anything else that could damage the blades. Memorize any sprinkler locations you might have or better yet use your weedeater/trimmer/whatever you call them where you're from to cut a small area around them.
Quote: 2/ Wash off the machine and dry the blade edges right afterwards, after every use. 3/ You should be able to find a local shop where the gardeners in your area take their equipment. establish a relationship with the service guys, and get them to sharpen your blades as often and as cheaply as possible. Last time I had to do this in my area, it was in the 25-30 dollar range, but that was a few years back. I would be curious to know what they would charge you now. Remember to emphasize, that you will be bringing it in regularly.
Quote:4/ Never let your lawn get too long. The shorter it is, the faster and cheaper it will be to cut.
Quote: That's the jst of it. The key is keeping the blades as sharp as possible. The sharper they are the less strain on the motor, (in this case - YOU) and the gears plastic or otherwise. You did reel...er...uh...real good getting the metal geared stuff. The old equipment is built waaaaaay better. I have an edger with a motor (and a back up motor) from 1929. While the rings are on their last legs, the iron core of the engine could withstand a full on Reaver/Alliance attack. - Jstn
