NOT a VOMP

Repeating Surface Daily Report to account for thread change.

We really need your help today guys for a crucial takedown of Torchwood. Read on...

Yesterday we had 133 Noms. Another weak day and on a day when Torchwood had a great one. What should have been an easy pass today, now may not happen. The critical factors are if they have a better than average day and if we can manage a slightly better than average day (lately). Taking the current gap, and adding their average of 62 means our magic number is 152

Let's have a really good day and take them down by more than that, Nimsters. No slacking today guys. We need you.

TAKE NOTE : Only a few shows up is Maverick, which holds the lowest position on the chart of the Top 20 in the Nominations poll. I want that position (for a start LOL)

Maverick Status : 11579 (47 yesterday)

We only have 25 more shows to the top of the list. 5 more to the Top 20.

To see the Top 20 Nominations Chart, click the "Click here for daily totals" link below the Top 40 box. Scroll to the bottom.

Let's get our numbers back to that 200 Nom level. get your friends to help again. Have them sign up at savesurface so they'll receive these reminders too.
--------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------
Targets

The number in parentheses, next to each show, is the previous day's nom total (if available)
Between each show, is the number of noms to the next show.

Remington Steele 9386 (31)

301

Torchwood 9085 (73)

89

Surface 8996 (133)

(Reposted from previous thread:)

Manual mornin' stats BOMP!

[Nimnom #3 imminent!]

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting.

You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Voting efficiently (i.e., with minimal time between votes, over the requisite 60 minutes) is crucial to maximizing your voting power. Download FlyVote by FlyVote (a fellow Browncoat voter, so, you know the program is good!). It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

This is a NEW version of the program, with new features, including buttons to all three "portals" to the voting page, in case one isn't working, or is overloaded, as well as a button to reset the timer, for those occasions when it gets out of sync, because you don't minimize it immediately after voting. Simply hit the reset and then minimize and you are back on a 1 hour schedule. Download it to replace the older version.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 618,295 (617,312)

Total votes Xena: 495,880 (495,283)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 983 (894) times.

Yesterday, Xenites voted 597 (429) times.

(Xenites voted 386 (465) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.

Yesterday, Browncoat votes rose by 89; Xenite votes rose by 168.

Firefly is 122,415 (122,029) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #22 show Star Trek: Voyager 121,624. That puts us at 2,585 (2,971) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 6.7 (6.39) days!

We'll get our next banner, for 620,000 votes, in another 1,075 (2,688) votes, and another 1.09 (3.01) days!

Our next, big goal, 625,000 votes, is 6,075 (7,688) votes, and, 6.18 (8.6) days away!

6,667,630 (6,655,049) votes have been counted as of 04/14/08. Yesterday, 12,581 (11,246) votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast in that period, we needed to vote 1,259 (1,125) times, of which we fell short by 276 votes. Our share fell to 9.2730856% (9.2758449%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny?):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 573 (516) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 274 (255) votes, yesterday, in 97.1 (112.38) days. BSG is also closing in on the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 4,080 (4,653) votes, and, 7.12 (9.02) days, away!

#7 show Buffy got an amazing 640 (558) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 358 (300) votes, yesterday, in 42.35 (47.38) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 31,171 (31,811) votes, and 48.7 (57.01) days, away, while Farscape 53.71 (65.29) days from getting there, first.

Buffy's holding the lead in the Hall of Fame race! Let's vote to keep her there!

#11 show Angel got a remarkable 541 (494) votes, yesterday. Angel is currently receiving enough votes to pass #9 show Combat!, which received 352 (335) votes, yesterday, in 39.95 (48.67) days (Jericho passed Angel to take the #10 spot. Unfortunately, Angel will have to remain at #11 until he can advance back up past Combat! Let's not get discouraged!)

#15 show Babylon 5 got 404 (398) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 272 (223) votes, in 54.44 (41.82) days.

#30 show Dark Shadows got 386 (359) votes, yesterday, and is receiving enough votes to pass #29 show Charmed, which got 254 (251) votes, in 26.45 (33.55) days. Dark Shadows is still feeling the slump! Any help you can spare the Vampire Flans would be appreciated!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll:

#48 show (#8 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight Total votes 30,597 (30,321).

Moonlight got 276 (258) votes, yesterday. It will take 4.29 (5.96) days to pass #47 show Lancer.

AND...

Remington Steele 9386
Torchwood 9085
Surface 8996

Still no pass on Torchwood, and, we got only 133 Nominations votes, yesterday! It's another 89 votes to pass Torchwood, which got 73 votes, which means we need to punch it up for Nim, to at least 160+ noms, today. We are sure to pass 'em before they pass Remington Steele, which should cause some consternation in the TW camp, seeing as they've been pounding on Steele for some time, now, and, probably haven't noticed us sneaking up on 'em to take a bite out of 'em.

I'm in for at least 5 Nim noms, today.

AND...

Sadly, John's race with Thomas isn't over.

Life 1136
Sex and The City 1132
Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends 1125
John Doe 1115
Chuck (2007) 1113
The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. 1108

Unbelievably, it appears that there is a voting coalition for the creepy, blue train! Still, we did pretty well, the past couple of days, gave 'em something to think about, and, John continues to pass other shows steadily. So, likely Thomas will steam on up ahead of John, but, it doesn't mean John's not making progress.

VOMP (John Doe)

Yeah, I saw that Thomas broke their record to do that.

In a couple of days after Surface is better situated, I'll lead another charge to take that back. I'm considering asking the entire Nimster crew for a one day boost, but we need to be well in front of Torchwood before we can afford to do that.

I want that show TODAY, as sheduled.

Imagine if I can talk the Nimsters into half of their daily Noms for John Doe. That would be about 75 or 80 Noms + what you guys add. - Jstn

Total votes Firefly: 619,387 (618,295)

Total votes Xena: 496,525 (495,880)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,092 (983) times.

Yesterday, Xenites voted 645 (597) times.

(Xenites voted 447 (386) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.

Yesterday, Browncoat votes rose by 109; Xenite votes rose by 48.

Firefly is 122,862 (122,415) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #22 show Star Trek: Voyager 121,882. That puts us at 2,138 (2,585) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 4.78 (6.7) days!

We'll get our next banner, for 620,000 votes, in another 613 (1,075) votes, and another .56 (1.09) days! Look for it, tomorrow!

Our next, big goal, 625,000 votes, is 5,613 (6,075) votes, and, 5.14 (6.18) days away!

6,681,146 ( 6,667,630) votes have been counted as of 04/15/08. Yesterday, 13,516 (12,581) votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast in that period, we needed to vote 1,352 (1,259) times, of which we fell short by 260 votes. Our share fell to 9.270581% (9.2730856%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

It needs to be noted that Jericho got 928 votes, yesterday. It would be a gorram shame if the day were to arrive on which even our esteemed rivals the Rangers were to get a higher daily total than we did. Let's buck it up, and VOTE!

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny?):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 600 (573) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 348 (274) votes, yesterday, in 114.21 (97.1) days. BSG is also closing in on the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 3,480 (4,080) votes, and, 5.8 (7.12) days, away!

#7 show Buffy got an astounding 653 (640) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 364 (358) votes, yesterday, in 40.33 (42.35) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 30,518 (31,171) votes, and 46.74 (48.7) days, away, while Farscape 51.82 (53.71) days from getting there, first.

Buffy's holding the lead in the Hall of Fame race! Let's vote to keep her there!

#11 show Angel got 540 (541) votes, yesterday. Angel is currently receiving enough votes to pass #9 show Combat!, which received 377 (352) votes, yesterday, in 45.32 (39.95) days (Jericho passed Angel to take the #10 spot. Unfortunately, Angel will have to remain at #11 until he can advance back up past Combat! Let's not get discouraged!)

#15 show Babylon 5 got a fantastic 464 (404) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 279 (272) votes, in 37.84 (54.44) days.

#30 show Dark Shadows got 402 (386) votes, yesterday, and is receiving enough votes to pass #29 show Charmed, which got 258 (254) votes, in 23.24 (26.45) days.

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll:

#48 show (#8 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight Total votes 30,962 (30,597).

Moonlight got 365 (276) votes, yesterday. It will take 2.03 (4.29) days to pass #47 show Lancer.

AND...

Remington Steele 9443
Surface 9204
Torchwood 9158

Hear that doppler-shifted whining behind us? We powered past Torchwood, and, we got 208 Nominations votes, yesterday, topping 9,000 noms!

It's another 239 votes to pass Remington Steele, which got 57 votes, which means it'll take us a few days to catch them. No sweat!

Umm... It is good to want things... It builds character. However, all your two consecutive posts qualified for was a dealer's visor.

Better luck next time?

VOMP (Surface)

Be back with the Surface Report shortly.

Thanks again for all the help yesterday. Obviously it made a difference.

Oh contraire Ray. If you take notice, you will see that my last post reflected a two hour period, in which I nom'd twice. Combine that with the previous post and you will have three Noms over a three hour period, when no one else posted.

I'll take that black hat.

Gotta love that comment from the Torchwood people. It's going in the report, so all the Nimsters can read it.

F.T. - What has lead you to this insane anti-caffene craziness?

Much Nimster love to the rest of you.

I have a plea ready to go for Nimster help with John Doe tomorrow, but I will do what I can to get a head start on it today, while still trying to give Red Dwarf a bump too. - Jstn

You mean a black dealer's visor? I dunno if they come in that color, Jstn =^[.]~=.

Anybody who cares to correct me, please, jump right in, but, my interpretation of vumping orthodoxy is that a hat trick results from three, consecutive, uninterrupted vote-related posts, not just a span of time. Otherwise, one could, in theory, vote three times, vump the last time, and, if nobody else's vumped during that time, claim a hat trick.

I affirm that it is posts which bump the thread which count.

Oh, and, VOMPJohnnom!

Since there's no one else here to post, I didn't think it made any difference, but it's your game, so keep your hat one more day. LOLOLOL

I'll just post them individually, next time.

Now, more importantly...

The Surface Daily Report

"73 Torchwood, 208 Surface, oh my.we should have been watching our backs"
- A fan's comment this morning on a Torchwood forum

Yesterday we had an astounding 208 Noms. As requested, you guys came through for us, and we had a lot of help from the crew over at Firefly as well. We owe them a huge thank you for sending large amounts of Noms our direction.

That was an incredible job yesterday guys and that will be the last we've seen of Torchwood. Let's salute on the way by though, as they do a pretty great job of rallying voters themselves.

A few more days and that silly Archie comic book hero Remington Steele will go down as well. Following that Bleak House is a stationary target and never receives Noms.

Go, go, Nimsters. You rock.

TAKE NOTE : Only a few shows up is Maverick, which holds the lowest position on the chart of the Top 20 in the Nominations poll. I want that position (for a start LOL)

Maverick Status : 11628 (49 yesterday)

We only have 24 more shows to the top of the list.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday we put out Torchwood's flame, once and for all.

Surface 9204 (208)
Torchwood 9158 (73)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Targets

The number in parentheses, next to each show, is the previous day's nom total (if available)
Between each show, is the number of noms to the next show.

Bleak House 9666 (0)

223

Remington Steele 9443 (57)

239

Surface 9204 (208)
