Need suggestions from fellow Kaylee fans

I'm commissioning a drawing from an artist friend of mine to put on a tshirt to wear to DragonCon this year. The design I have in mind calls for a picture of Kaylee.

I'm hoping to wear the resulting shirt to get Jewel's autograph, so it's important to me that I do the best I can in conveying what I'm looking for to the artist. I'd like to point him to a few scenes in the show for inspiration as to how to portray her. So I'm trying to think of moments in the show where she looks her best - moments where her fun-loving, happy, innocent, but still openly sexual personality shines through.

I have a few to start with:

- "No power in the 'verse can stop me" after valiantly recapturing her apple from River at the start of War Stories.

- Showing off to Mal the job she did on the ambulance in Ariel.

- Sitting with Simon reminiscing about his Sake-fueled escapade at the start of Objects in Space.

- Waving "hi" to Mal after being interrupted with Bester in Out of Gas.

- Not exactly the look I'm going for but still I think one of the most beautiful shots of her in the whole series, when she's standing over Book in the infirmary in Safe, talking to Zoe about how it "don't seem right" that they left Simon and River behind.

Anyone wanna help me out with some more?

I always like when she talks to Book for the first time in the pilot, and the whole, "Oh, Grandpa" thing she does. Another good moment is when she's playing jacks with River at the end of Objects in Space. Hope that helps.

Jewel is such a nice person that I'm sure she'll sign anything you have made. Just make sure you have a pen with ink that won't run or disappear when you wash it. A few suggestions:

Jewel has said on her blog that she's not a big fan of strawberries and gets many of them at conventions and places.

The scene in Safe where she is smiling at Simon in the shop just moments before she gets angry is a good one.

In Objects in Space where Simon is just about to touch her face is beautiful.

In Serenity BDM just before she sees the dead person behind the glass as Simon is about to warn her.

Also from the movie her look by the fireside when Jayne is playing guitar.

Getting her hair done by Inara in the pilot.

In the movie, her look at Simon on the ramp as Simon and River are leaving Serenity on Beaumonde.

Simon and Kaylee kissing in the engine room at the end of the movie. Jewel's said several times its one of her favorite scenes from everything she has done and wouldn't mind doing it again even though she's married.

That's all I can think of. Good luck and say hi to Jewel for all of us who can't make it to the con.

I like most of the above listed, but for a clearcut shot of Kaylee's face, I think of her under the deck in Bushwhacked going to cut the DC line. And then afterwards, saying with Mal "Not a thing".
I can't wuite remember where, but the close-up shot of her grease-smudged face, with a winning (or winsome) smile, I think she's looking after Simon. probably Pilot, but cannot recall. The artist could skip the grease smudged part and get the rest of it.
Maybe also in TTJ, "Oh! Crime!" to Simon when playing with the hoist control in cargobay/hatchway. She is recovering from bullet surgery, and Joss indicates she is shy around Simon still.

Although I like "that's my gorl" and "I'm not talking to the Captain" I don't think they would translate well to what you want.

Jewel has said that one of her favorite scenes is when Jayne is crouching outside sickbay/infirmary in Pilot during Kaylee's surgery. If you use something like Kaylee's "are you asking me to dance?" face, and somehow put a crouching Jayne in a small corner, maybe overlooking or watching over, she might like that.

With Wash in HoG when he'll take her in a manly fashion, because she is pretty.

Above (cbsteve beat me to this one) and if I may any of the scenes with the men gathered around her at the party in Shindig.

The scene where Simon and Kaylee almost kiss and he goes to touch her face and Book interrupts them is from Objects in Space just after Kaylee tells the crew about how River saved her in War Stories. In The Message, Kaylee is pissed at Simon for almost the whole episode.
