One of our local Browncoats, Dale Koontz, just had her book published by McFarland. It's called "Faith and Choice in the Works of Joss Whedon".

Pop over there and check it out. There's a nicely detailed description of the contents. And a fabulous shot of the cover featuring Spike and Caleb.
Dale has been an active supporter of Firefly and all things Whedon. So far I've enjoyed reading her book. It's non-fiction and it's riddled with wit and insight.

Dale will be at our upcoming Can't Stop the Serenity charity screening in Charlotte, NC on June 21st. Folks will have a chance to buy her book for a discounted price. And Dale will sign them for anyone who makes a donation to Equality Now.

Just finished chapter 7, "I Got No Rudder: Navigating the Sea of Faith with Malcolm Reynolds".
Wow! It covers all of Mal's struggles with faith beginning with his obvious belief in God during the Battle of Serenity. Then fast-forward to the Firefly present and his fight to keep God at a distance. So what does he believe in then?
Finally there's a look at how Mal finds true faith and how it compels him to take action in Serenity.
Now I'm on to Chapter 8, "The Depth of Shadows: Redemption and Doubt in Shepherd Book".
