(Reposted from previous thread:)

Manual mornin' stats VOMP!

[Surfnom!]

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead.

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

Votes are counted per network IP, so, don't go to the library or your office and vote hourly on each computer on the subnet, or all votes will be thrown out; multiple votes on rotating IPs will likewise be rejected.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 640,247 (639,224)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,023 (973) times, 50 more than the previous day.

Total votes Xena: 507,387 (506,932)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 455 (437) times, 18 more than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 568 (536) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 132,680 (132,292) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #22 show Star Trek: Voyager 126,265. That puts us at 17,320 (17,708) votes away from a 150,000 vote lead, about 30.49 (33.04) days.

We got our next banner, for 640,000 votes, today! Shiny!

Our next, big goal, 650,000 votes, is 9,753 (10,776) votes, and, 9.53 (11.08) days away!

6,925,507 (6,914,674) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 05/05/08. Yesterday, 10,833 (10,731) votes were cast. Our share ROSE to 9.2447672% (9.2444561%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny?):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 441 (440) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 263 (273) votes, yesterday, in 138.24 (148.41) days. The Colonials have been struggling since they entered the Hall of Fame, and could use some help!

#7 show Buffy got 503 (519) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 334 (299) votes, yesterday, in 39.75 (31.3) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 18,555 (19,058) votes, and 36.89 (36.72) days, away, while Farscape is 35.44 (40.71) days from getting there.

Buffy has lost the lead in the Hall of Fame race! Let's up the vote and get her back on top!

#11 show Angel got 457 (487) votes, yesterday. Angel is currently receiving enough votes to pass #10 show Combat!, which received 369 (343) votes, yesterday, in 45.86 (28.64) days. Angel needs help to stage a comeback!

#15 show Babylon 5 got 354 (352) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 196 (207) votes, in 25.87 (29.28) days. The Babylonians could still use some shiny Browncoat help!

#29 show Dark Shadows got 361 (370) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to pass #28 show CSI, which got 148 (149) votes, in 2.85 (3.71) days! Let's help the Vampire flans past this obstacle, too!

#41 show (#1 in the Nominations Poll) Blood Ties got 410 (385) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #40 show Cleopatra 2525, which got 134 (129) votes, in 32.17 (35.77) days.

#46 show (#6 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight got 289 (295) votes, yesterday, and will pass #45 show Rome, which got 149 (169) votes, yesterday, in .01 (1.13) days. Moonlight will be the new #45 show tomorrow!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

AND...

The West Wing 13987
Surface 13026

Surface got a fantastic 218 Nominations votes, yesterday, passing 13,000 votes! That was better than 20 of the Top 40 shows got! That beat 50% of the Top 40 shows! Put another way, that would qualify Surface to end up in the Top 20 of the UPPER Poll!

Look for Surface on the "Current Top 20 Leading Nominations" list; hit the "Totals" button on the TV Vote control bar at the tip of the page, then scroll down to see a new, pretty blue bar for Surface on the "Top 20 Nominations - Current Order" graph.

It's another 961 votes to pass The West Wing, which got 10 votes, which means Surface should pass that show in just over 4 more days, give or take a day.

Gotta run in a big hurry VOMP (Surface)

No time to chat right now, so here's...

The Daily Surf Report

Yesterday we had an unbelievably great day at 213 Noms. Up 13 from the day before and jst 1 Nom short of our old record. Pushing our average up to 193.8

The West Wing got only 10 Noms, down 3. Their average is now 13.85

You guys never fail to amaze. I thought after passing two shows in a row and getting into the Top 20 Nom list, some of you might slack off. Instead we got an increase and passed the 13000 Nom level. Nimtastic job.

I added more info in the targetting area, btw. Let's go get 'em Nimsters.

Ray from FFF.net tells me that, yesterday we did better than 20 shows (50%) on the Top 40 list. Did you read that? Better than half of the shows on the Top 40 voting list. Nimsters are a force of nature.
(Make sure you are voting for Firefly every time you Nom. They are helping us)

We are 961 votes away from the #18 spot on the Nom list. It will take us 5.3 days to pass at our current average rates

I included the next couple of shows on the target list below, so you can see how quickly those two will fall, after we pass The West Wing. Both of those shows get decent amounts of daily Noms, however, so the sooner we can move up to the next position the easier it will be to pass them.

We only have 18 more shows to the top of the list.

To see the Top 20 Nominations Chart, click the "Click here for daily totals" link below the Top 40 box. Scroll to the bottom.

Let's keep our numbers above the 200 Nom level or better. Ask your friends to help. Have them sign up at savesurface so they'll receive these reminders too.
--------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------
Targets

The number in parentheses, next to each show, is the previous day's nom total (if available)
Between each show, is the number of noms to the next show.

Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye 14763 (37)

416 (we are 1737 away - 171 less than yesterday)

Bones 14347 (39)

360 (we are 1321 away - 179 less than yesterday)

The West Wing 13987 (10)

961

Surface 13026 (218)

VOMP (John Doe)

Ongoing Nom support - John Doe/Red Dwarf/and of course my show, Surface

Ongoing Vote support - Bonanza (take that Xenites)/Angel, Buffy, and Dark Shadows (why are there so many Vampire shows on the list? I suspect I'll find holes in the necks of voters)/and of course Firefly.

I'm back already. Had to make an emergency grocery store run (No milk for the cereal LOL)

Been catching up on the backreading.

KNIGHTREYEDER - Sure glad Ray explained all that to you. He does it so well. LOLOL

We at Surface would greatly appreciate if you would include us in the list of whatever shows you decide to nominate. Let me know what your favorite is, and I will include daily Noms for it, provided it's not our direct competition. (We are at #19 on the list currently)

FT - Thanks for the "congrats" waaay back there. Don't worry about the fat-fingers thing. With all the stats there are to "crunch" I'm amazed we all do as well as we do. I do half of mine before my morning coffee has even kicked in. I'm actually amazed that I'm not making mistakes every day. An occassional glitch is forgivable.

You know, I really should write a spreadsheet for doing all the calculations. I used to have a simple program for doing that back in the "Days of DOS"

Anyone know where I can get a simple and FREE one these days? Thanks - Jstn

DOS. Now there's a name I've not heard in a very long time.

Do you need a spreadsheet program? (e.g. Microsoft Excel) For a free one, check http://www.openoffice.org/product/calc.html

Or do you need a vote tracking macro to use with Excel? I've got one of those, written with what I thought at the time were self explanatory variable names. With a touch of tweaking, it could be adapted to track whichever shows you like ('course the output would like like mine, but...)
