Being am amature history student I know how important good horses were to the military.

Horses had to be strong to carry the weight of the cavalrymen and their equipement. It does not matter what period. In the middle ages it was men in heavy armour and even up to World War II they were in the Russian army in Cossack regiments. So horses played a major roll in combat for centuries.

I will shut-up because once start talking about military history I never stop. A passion of mine. Probably another reason I enjoyed Firefly because of the military background of Mal and Zoe.
