Here's a story by Sacramento television reporter Anny Hong , detailing the Space Ad concept...
Next flight is scheduled for May 12th , out of the Black Rock launch site . Major sponsor will be the 'Disc-Recovery' Channel , and will include High-Def cameras .

To see the video story by Anny , select the Link above to open the CBS 13 video library page , then type 'Space Ad' into the Search bar at the right side of the top of the page...

Anny's story will be the first hit that comes up , and it begins with "Local Company" , and goes on with the details about the space ads...
The story is dated May 7th , 2008 .

It's possible to click and enlarge the video once you've gotten it to open...

John Powell is a Browncoat in the Sacramento area , and a charter member of the Independent Spaceborne Forces .
His enterprise , JP Aerospace , is a major sponsor of the Independent Spaceborne Forces.

The rugged desert terrain , near 'Black Rock' dry lake , in northwestern Nevada...

A view from aboard one of the 'Space Ad' craft , looking back toward the Earth-That-Was...

One of the craft that typically carries the Ads to 'the edge'...'PongSats' , as described in Anny Hong's video story , are carried free-of-charge for science students from all over the world...The 'PongSats' are usually contained within the blue , pyramid-shaped area of the vehicle...

Beginning an Ascent...

And , 'Away' it goes...

Flight vehicles carrying the 'space ads' are tracked with sophisticated electronic systems , including onboard GPS computers and a radio/avionics downlink for each craft.

Logo of the BROWNCOAT Space Operations organization , the INDEPENDENT SPACEBORNE FORCES , carried aloft on a Space Ad flight.

Typical , all-volunteer crew that accomplishes each 'space ad' mission , among which are many hardcore Browncoats...

'JP Aerospace' Missions are most often flown from the Black Rock launch site , but have also been flown in California , Oklahoma (Burns Flat Spaceport) , and from the West Texas Spaceport. Multi-Mach-velocity Rocket flights for Research and Development purposes will resume later in 2008. The Independent Spaceborne expects to accompany JP Aerospace missions on many future occasions , and we support their goal of bringing Spaceflight to the 'common folk'...

Gooood Mornin' Mr. Black!

So maybe I missed it, but who are they advertizing to? I mean besides the odd passing vulcan shuttle and people with shiny telescopic equipment.... (people, here not referring to me)

I mean, I'm all for spaceyness, not bein' fond this spinnin' mudball and I wanns get off but wha's de point? To get it on the news? To perform tiny science experiments?

Please enlighten me, as I am informationally deprived!

PS Happy Moms Day to those who be deserving!

Well , not the Vulcans...They're very unemotional and pretty much immune to adverts...

Actually , some fairly large science goes on in those tiny packages...Even University Profs are getting in on the action...And , there are some 5th graders (of course !) with more time on 'the edge' than some senior atmospheric scientists...

Curiously enough , conditions at this height near the edge of our own fragile atmosphere are very much like those on the surface of Mars...So , one might say that some present-day kid/scientist is getting 'real-world' experience for the future frontier...

This gang was featured on National Geographic Channel's 'Naked Earth' a couple of months back...They've got serious science credibility , and are gaining more all the time...

The Browncoat leader of this crew , and Spaceborne charter member , John Powell , received the singular honor of being 2006's Benjamin Franklin National Citizen Scientist award recipient...

Every time we sell a Space Ad , more kids get to do some space science work...

It's a 'win-win' , and it raises the profile of Browncoats ever more...We hope to get some notice by TPTB soon enough , and campaign some more to 'relight Firefly' , or gain more notice to tell Universal that Browncoats will stop at nothing to get another Serenity film...

It's the World's tallest billboard...Where else would Browncoats camp out to send our 'signal' to the 'Verse ?

Xie-xie for the inquiry , Misty...Did the 'old man' catch that Bowden's Mal-ady yet ?
I hope not...

Sorry , 'classic' remastered Trek is on...Gotta run...

World's Highest Billboard, yes, as for the tallest.......
Anyone up for crop circles spelling out "Firefly"!

It's BYOMM= Bring your own mudder's milk!!

Precious Buddha, does that ever sound like FUN tonight.

As for Bowden's Malady, if that means people breaking the lock off your locker and eating one bite out of everything in your lunch, then, yes he's got it!!! Funny thing is he got pissed and removed everything from his locker and the mine safety inspector moved into his locker and the next day the same jerk peed in the MSHA guys boots and tagged everything with paint thinkin' it was me hubby's!!! LOL!!! Talk about persona non grata...

WooT !

That's gorramned hysterical , the locker nonsense...'Cept for the bites out of everything , that's downright unsettling...

Nevada's a little barren...The 'crop circles' require intensive irrigation...

We were thinking more along the lines of ,
the 'Nazca lines'...We'll just pull a plow through the dry lake bed , and spell out , 'Relight Firefly' , and get a picture of it from aloft...

Misty , please forego the obvious jokes about me 'pulling the plow'...

Oh , look ! The Nazca folk already did the " Terrifyin' Space-Monkey " !

You know how to tell that's a Space Monkey ? Only 3 fingers on his right hand...Obviously mutated...Reavers ain't the only ones runnin' without 'core containment'...

Not so much worried about the three fingers, it's the ?stick? coming out of his peegoo that's got me all concerned...hehehe

By-and-by here in Indianar (intentional R) we have a whole mess of crops and lately, a whole freaking lot of rain. The only hard part is finding a GROUP of people who can spell Relight Firefly!

Wondered if you'd notice that...

Wasn't sure what to make of it myself , but several theories are leading :

1) the stick up the pi-gu is what makes the Space Monkeys so terrifyin'...

2) it's just an oddly-placed tether that connects said Space Monkeys to their ships when they're on an E-V-A..

3) it's another horrifyin' Space Monkey mutation ; Space Monkeys now breathe through their kazoos , which makes 'em ill-tempered , and that's actually an oxygen-carrying UMBILICAL that also connects 'em to their ships...

Ok, now I'm concerned about YOU and how much time you've spent pondering the anorexic monkey's peegoo.....................

The explanation of the R was for the poor unsuspecting souls who wander in here from afar, but so far it appears we're alone

*short uncomfortable silence*

Hey, don't look at me like that-
You can't prove anything-
The sheep are LYING!!!!!

Goodnight hon!

What shall we do tonight, Brain?
The same thing we do every night, Pinky-
TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD
MU HAha Haha Haha
