Was doing the weekly family shopping in Tesco today (one of the UK's major supermarket chains), looking at the DVD's for something quite different - and was suprised to see Firefly just sitting there on the shelf looking at me.

There was me thinking it was a minority taste!

The chart put it at #13 for the week - checking the Tesco site just now it has it at #11, only just behind big box-office movies like Master and Commander and Matrix Revolutions.

Wow!!

Just further proof that Brits have good taste.

Now if you could twist someone's arm over there to lower the price of the Father Ted DVDs over on this side of the pond I'd appriciate it. Mother's Day is coming up and all and what says Mother's Day more than Father Ted?

Well yeah Firefly but I already bought here that, I hope she doesn't see this...

Yeah, I was really impressed to see Tesco stocking it, especially seeing as they only stock a top ten in the branch I go in. I was also pleased to see both Virgin and HMV giving a little instore fanfare (well, a dedicated shelf with a little recommendation and introductory blurb sign) to the DVDs too. It seems that Fox are really the only people in the 'verse who don't recognise Firefly for what it truly was/is.
