My friend has been raving about Firefly since I can remember. Anyway, I found it on sale and decided to buy it.

But I'm getting ready to watch it and the air dates and the titles are all out of order.

It lists Serenity Pts. 1 &2 as the first episode(s) on Disc one, but the date says it was the last episode to air.

Then it has the Train Job listed under it, and the date indicated this is the pilot?

I'm so confused. Do I watch them in order according to title? Or skip around according to air date?

Thanks!

~Iz

The search is complicated by there being so many of these threads , but the consensus is what 'Chris' said...

There is some debate about whether to watch Objects in Space , or The Message , last...

If it was my choice , I'd watch Objects in Space LAST...

Seems more hopeful , that way...

Will keep looking some threads to help you along... http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=4&t=21016

Enjoy yourself...And , Welcome Aboard !

Hey there newbie:

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I find it best to watch with someone, preferably a loved one. Man, I'm excited. It's great when a new person is introduced to the 'Verse. I'm getting the notion to watch it all over again.

Well, enjoy and come on back. Take your shoes off and sit a spell. Welcome aboard!

Shiny.
Welcome to the verse.
In case you are curious about how the time frames come together, try this thread:

Although when watching The Message, keep in mind it was the last Ep filmed, and was being filmed when cancellation was announced.

IsisIzabel (#31623) Welcome home, fellow FF-lover.
Pull up a strawberry. Chug a mug of Mudder's Milk. Come on up to the galley to question the buffet!!1! The shimmerwine is in the fountain at the aft end of the table. Ice-planets in the cooler, bottom shelf. We're down to three or four flavors but I'm off on a re-supply in a day or two.
Please do not step on ShipsCat or into her dish. :;-)

Spread the FF love whenever, wherever.

Welcome aboard, Is!

Some additional shiny resources (after you've watched the episodes AND Serenity, the motion picture (which caps off the series)...

I recommend that you check Amazon.com for cheap editions of the Firefly Visual Companion, vols 1 and 2, as well as the Serenity Visual Companion. They not only have the original scripts and production notes, but there are additional essays from Joss Whedon about the show.

Another, practically indispensable resource is the Serenity RPG. Even if you never roll the dice (though it's not a bad paper and pencil RPG), it is as close as we have to a technical manual for the 'Verse. It includes a Mandarin Chinese phrase glossary, system charts, equipment lists, explanations of the Alliance, 'Verse society, and technology... Excellent!

And, for more tales of the verse, Joss has been producing official comic books. The first set, which you can get as one collected volume, was "Those Left Behind," which takes place between the end of the series and the movie; more recently, "Better Days" was released (I haven't read it, yet, as I'm waiting for the collected set). Later on, the next series to be released will be titled, "A Shepherd's Tale," presumably a big reveal about Shepherd Book.

So, enjoy, and drop in with questions and comments! Welcome to the 'Verse!

So Iz, did you get any sleep? I am willing to bet a round of Mudder's Milk that you had to watch 'em all before you could get any shut eye.

Woohoooo! I'm here, I watched it, and I'm currently rewatching it all. LOL

I'm so completely infatuated with this show, it's a bit scary. I'm actually off to start making a bunch of icons for the show (I loooove doing graphics).

Is there a graphic forum here where I can post a link to them when I'm done for those interested? I'll definitely have them up at my LiveJournal:

Thanks again for the HUGE welcome!

Do I really gotta pick just one? Really?

Gah.

Um.... Kaylee. Mostly because I adore Jewel Staite (started watching her as a kid in Space Cases, then Higher Ground, etc.)
