Adam is currently filming this, (I stole this from the OB, from "Thyme" as Adam mouthpiece, posted by AG).
It's about a teacher(Adams not a bad guy!!) who gives his class an assignment to research their own past. One student can't find any past, she thinks she must be adopted, it appears to have a twist to the story.
I don't know about the release, I think its going to DVD....????? I will check into it,

She, Thyme says he's enjoying doing this.

Can you see the image, work computer, can't see it...somebody let me know. Thanks

*Pops in.*

Here you go.

The premise sounds really intriguing. (Total sucker for anything with a twist.) I liked Adam in Day Break, and that was full of them! Here's hoping that Sci-fi picks this movie up!

'The Assignment' filmed partly in American Fork
Barbara Christiansen - NORTH COUNTY STAFF
Next spring, when people from American Fork go to the movie, "The Assignment," they may recognize some of the setting of the movie.

The independent production company, New Movie Corp., has spent nine days in American Fork shooting scenes from the movie. The entire production schedule is 25 days, so the American Fork segment will be a significant portion of the motion picture. New Movie Corp. is producing the film for Feature Films for Families, which is planning on a theater release next spring.

Between 60 and 70 people from the crew and cast have been working around the former Harrington School, creating a high school for the show. The premise of the story is related to an assignment a history class has to research their own personal history. One student, Eliza Baird (played by Linsey Godfrey), discovers her family does not have baby pictures of her and she realizes she does not look like anyone else in her family. There are no public records or hospital records, so she approaches her parents. She learns she is adopted, which she was not supposed to find out until she reaches 18.

"She goes into a tail spin trying to find her identity," said director Tim Nelson. "She feels really strongly driven to find out. The audience discovers who her father really is before she does. In the end she learns that the message of her history class, which is 'Today is tomorrow's history. Make every day count. You are making your own history every single day.'"

The entire film is being shot in Utah. In addition to American Fork, there are shots in Salt Lake and Mt. Pleasant.

Nelson is chairman of the Motion Picture Association of Utah and said the filming has a definite economic impact on the state. They purchased food, lumber, paint, supplies and gasoline in the communities, he said.

The company looked at a lot of locations before choosing the American Fork school.

"We looked easily at 50 different schools before we came on this one," he said. "Once we saw it, even in bad shape, we knew even if it cost a lot of money, it was perfect for us. This is one of the best schools and I do a lot of movies in schools." They spent about three weeks getting the school read for the filming.

They originally looked at the other side of the country.

"We were going to do this picture in Nashville, Tenn. at one point because their incentives are better," he said. "We all preferred to work at home. It also has the locations we want and great crews. The majority of the crew is from Utah. The majority of the cast is from Los Angeles." Those who live in Los Angeles can have a quick flight and be home when they shoot in Utah, he said.

The show stars Adam Baldwin as Mr. Clements, the history teacher; M. Emmett Walsh as the music teacher; French Stewart as the antagonist Mr. Price; and Robert Culp as the wealthy land baron.

Nelson said Feature Films for Families had changed through the years.

"They are growing up as a company in terms of their scope of demographics," he said. "They are targeting a broader audience than they used to do. We are trying to make films that the entire family can watch. There is no profanity, violence or sex, but it is a great story."

He said "The Assignment" was outside even the company's new thinking.

"This is a real different movie for Feature Films for Families in that it could be considered on one hand to be controversial," he said. "You are dealing with a child who suddenly discovers she is adopted. We are riding a fine line in that it is a difficult story to tell."

Despite the fact that the story line is a drama, there is humor in the production.

"There is a lot of intelligent humor," Nelson said. "Our humor is always clean."
