(Reposted from previous thread:)

Mornin' stats [VOMP]!

Firefly is now TWO days behind schedule!

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 63.07 (69.72) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

We don't get our numbers back up, instead of flyin' high, we could end up on the drift without a compression coil.

Our ultimate goal, 750,000 votes, is 61,130 (62,070) votes, and 65.03 (74.34) days away! We've fallen behind our target date by TWO days, and need to maintain a daily average of 970 (1,035) votes to stay on track! Let's keep those daily totals up!

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead.

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

Votes are counted per network IP, so, don't go to the library or your office and vote hourly on each computer on the subnet, or all votes will be thrown out; multiple votes on rotating IPs will likewise be rejected.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 688,870 (687,930)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 940 (835) times, 105 more than the previous day. Better, for a Sunday, but we really want to keep our daily average above 1,000 votes, even if only out of pride for the achievement! We have two months left to vote, Browncoats; if every one of us voted just once more per day, it would help ensure achieving 750k!

Total votes Xena: 531,437 (530,946)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 491 (457) times, 34 more than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 449 (378) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 157,433 (156,984) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #21 show Trapper John, M.D. 149,217. That puts us at 17,567 (18,016) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 39.12 (47.66) days, based on current voting.

We'll get our next banner, for 690,000 votes, in another 1,130 (2,070) votes, and 1.2 (2.48) days!

7,530,229 (7,517,423) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 06/23/08. Yesterday, 12,806 (11,716) votes were cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny? We accomplish more together than we would separately! Let's continue to support our friends! Browncoats never leave a friend behind!):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 518 (486) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 279 (267) votes, yesterday, in 65.9 (73) days.

#6 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer got 570 (544) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass BSG by the end of the Poll.

#10 show Angel got 500 (450) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #9 show The X-Files, which got 325 (347) votes, in 13.81 (21.56) days.

#15 show Babylon 5 got 385 (324) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 296 (259) votes, in .74 (2.38) days.

With your help, Babylon 5 will be the new #14 show, tomorrow!!

#27 show Dark Shadows got 354 (331) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to to pass #26 show Star Trek: The Next Generation, which got 205 (223) votes, in 5.88 (9.49) days.

Thanks for the awesome help! Dark Shadows still needs your ongoing support!

#36 show Blood Ties got 601 (513) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #35 show The Simpsons, which got 187 (198) votes, in 5.08 (7.99) days!

#43 show (#3 in the Nominations) Moonlight got 678 (646) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #42 show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which got 61 (56) votes, yesterday, in 10.28 (11.8) days.

Looking ahead, Moonlight will pass (current) #38 show, Queer as Folk, which got 81 (50) votes, yesterday, in 48.31 (49.39) days, to enter the Top 40!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

hey ray - two firefighters blogging on the homepage right now i notice!:)

also phyrelight's blog reminded me - anyone know if 'special hell' is an in-joke??
some guy called dennis said in 1999 re Alien IV:

"There's a special place in hell for people who produce movies like this.
In it they are fastened into seats with their eye lids propped open,
forced to watch their creations for eternity."

the quote is still there at imdb (i think!).

anyway - knowing joss's sense of humour (and hatred for the movie) - i wonder...

i kinda like the film myself - but that's another story.

I think both are references to an older quotation, though I don't know the proper attribution for it. Words to the effect of , "There is a special hell reserved for those that refuse to choose a side once the time for action is upon them." I believe it was a WWII reference, but could as easily be Greek. I'll see what I can find.
Last vump until I get my laptop back.

Firefighters? Huh, what-where?

Mornin' stats VOMP!

Firefly is now ONE day behind schedule!

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 57.59 (63.07) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

At this point, every vote we fail to cast is lost forever; we won't always have "tomorrow" to make it up! We're approaching the end of a marathon race, getting ready to sprint toward the finish, and we all need to push just a little harder, to stay on pace for 750,000 votes by the end of the Poll!

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 689,891 (688,870)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,021 (940) times, 81 than the previous day. Better, but we really want to keep our daily average above 1,036 votes! We have less than two months left to vote, Browncoats; if every one of us voted just once more per day, it would help ensure achieving 750k!

Total votes Xena: 531,943 (531,437)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 506 (491) times, 15 more than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 515 (449) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 157,948 (157,433) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #19 show Ponderosa 157,895. That puts us at 17,052 (17,567) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 33.11 (39.12) days, based on current voting.

We'll get our next banner, for 690,000 votes, in another 109 (1,130) votes, and .11 (1.2) days! Look for it, tomorrow!

7,543,823 (7,530,229) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 06/24/08. Yesterday, 13,594 (12,806) votes were cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny? We accomplish more together than we would separately! Let's continue to support our friends! Browncoats never leave a friend behind!):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 505 (518) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 359 (279) votes, yesterday, in 106.87 (65.9) days.

#6 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer got 653 (570) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass BSG by the end of the Poll.

#10 show Angel got 581 (500) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #9 show The X-Files, which got 314 (325) votes, in 8.05 (13.81) days.

Babylon 5 got 426 (385) votes, yesterday, passing Stargate SG-1, which got 297 (296) votes, to become the new #14 show! B5 is on track to pass La Femme Nikita, which got 201 (208) votes, in 16.85 (22.69) days!

#27 show Dark Shadows got 396 (354) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to to pass #26 show Star Trek: The Next Generation, which got 240 (205) votes, in 4.62 (5.88) days.

Thanks for the awesome help! Dark Shadows still needs your ongoing support!

#36 show Blood Ties got 691 (601) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #35 show The Simpsons, which got 191 (187) votes, in 3.21 (5.08) days!

#43 show (#3 in the Nominations) Moonlight got 755 (678) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #42 show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which got 82 (61) votes, yesterday, in 8.43 (10.28) days.

Looking ahead, Moonlight will pass (current) #39 show, Queer as Folk, which got 65 (81) votes, yesterday, in 40.8 (48.31) days, to enter the Top 40!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!
