(Reposted from previous thread:)

Delayed mornin' stats VOMP!

I know they're not contributing members of our cooperative, but if anybody wanted to do a personal favor for the missus and me, I'd take it kindly if anyone cared to throw some votes Ponderosa's and Bonanza's way. Bonanza, in particular, is fallin' short of the totals they're gonna need to reach their goal of 500k. Just sayin' that it'd be the neighborly thing to do to help 'em out. Xie-xie!

Firefly is still AHEAD of schedule, but losing ground on daily votes!

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 30.99 (31.46) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

Let's review Firefly's TV Vote goals and achievements:

1. We've been the #1 show in the Poll since August 17th, 2007, when we passed Xena. We had tremendous numbers, in those days, with daily totals in the 1,500s and up. No one will pass us in TV Vote.

2. Our ultimate goal, 750,000, is 33,651 (34,839) votes, and 28.33 (28.82) days away! We're on-target, and need to maintain a daily average of 1,086 (1,089) votes to stay on track.

3. Firefly holds the record for consecutive days at 1,000+ daily votes, 75, cut short only by the Lexx autovote scandal last October, which shut down the Poll for about a week.

4. Firefly is 172,936 (172,326) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #16 show Doctor Who 172,318. That puts us at 2,064 (2,674) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 3.38 (4.08) days, based on current voting. We still don't hold the highest lead of a show over its closest competition. That distinction currently belongs to Bonanaza, with a lead of 174,129 (173,985) over Gunsmoke. We'll soon have that tied up.

5. Firefly's share of the Top 40 voting pie remains at 9%. Again, this unique achievement is essentially unassailable, but until recently, our percentage had been slipping. Let's keep the votes up, and our share of the pie!

6. The one record which has eluded us is most votes in a single day. Xena holds that record, dating back to March 30, 2007: 2,803. Firefly topped out on March 7, 2007: 2,359. We could still beat Xena's total, but it would take better than doubling our current best daily vote totals to do it. It's still worth thinking about!

Let's keep up the hard burn, show everyone our Browncoat Fan Power, maintain our records, and clinch our final milestone!

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead.

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

Votes are counted per network IP, so, don't go to the library or your office and vote hourly on each computer on the subnet, or all votes will be thrown out; multiple votes on rotating IPs will likewise be rejected.

Top two shows as of this morning:

Total votes Firefly: 716,349 (715,161)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,188 (1,209) times, 21 fewer than the previous day. Not the direction we want our votes to trend, Browncoats! We lost a day off our lead, yesterday, as our votes dropped.

Total votes Xena: 543,413 (542,835)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 578 (554) times, 24 more than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 610 (655) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

We'll get our next banner, for 720,000 votes, in another 3,651 (4,839) votes, and 3.07 (4) days!

7,862,884 (7,848,011) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 07/17/08. Yesterday, 14,873 (15,255) votes were cast.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny? We accomplish more together than we would separately!)...

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 547 (574) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 434 (442) votes, yesterday, in 108.17 (93.45) days.

The Colonials need urgent help, if they are to advance again before the Poll ends! Please lend 'em a hand!

#6 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer got 661 (658) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass BSG by the end of the Poll. Buffy's numbers are still sufficient to hold off #7 show Farscape.

#9 show Angel got 652 (630) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass Jericho by the end of the Poll. Angel's numbers are still sufficient to hold off #10 show The X-Files. Angel is 34.57 days from the Hall of Fame, about 4 days behind. In order to enter the HoF before the Poll ends, Angel needs a daily average of at least 727 votes.

#13 show Babylon 5 got 395 (428) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass Little House on the Prairie by the end of the Poll. B5's numbers are still sufficient to hold off #14 show La Femme Nikita.

#24 show Dark Shadows got 392 (390) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #23 show Star Trek: The Original Series, which got 289 (300) votes, in 18.17 (21.94) days!

Thank you for continuing to lend your support to our friends, the Barnabas Browncoats!

#34 Blood Ties got 593 (626) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #33 show The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which got 260 (239) votes, yesterday, in 26.09 (23.31) days.

Moonlight got 1,389 (1,295) votes, yesterday, passing Cleopatra 2525, which got 13 (33) votes. Moonlight is the new #41 show (#1 in the Nominations Poll), today!

Looking ahead, Moonlight will pass #40 show, Queer as Folk, which got 120 (126) votes, yesterday, in 6 (8.36) days, to enter the Top 40!

Yours in the cause,

Whew, I can't believe I got in... what the heck is going on with this site?

Hi, Browncoats, I just wanted to pop in to thank Ray (and anyone else) who is helping Bonanza meet our goal for 500K by the end of the voting. That's very kind of you and a wonderful gesture. I know it wasn't intended as a tit-for-tat swap, but I have added Firefly to my hourly vote.

For the fellow who was wondering about "Ponderosa": it was a prequel which aired for one season on PAX (remember them?) which premiered in September 2001. It was filmed in Australia and told the story of Ben and the boys building the Ponderosa ranch. (Oh, and by the way, the Ponderosa was near Virginia City, Nevada, not Kansas City. Maybe you're thinking of Gunsmoke!) Ponderosa's goal by the end of the vote is to pass Lexx. Not to be mean, but the main Lexx cheerleader has consistantly dissed the westerns, so it's a bit of payback. Forgive us for being petty.

Thanks again! I don't know what I'll do once the voting ends; maybe get a life?

- Ellen

Thanks for dropping in, Ellen!

Yeah, just can't see lettin' such a major goal slip through anybody's fingers, not if a few Browncoats can help it. And, too, a number of the westerns fans have had some shiny things to say about Firefly, having been open-minded enough to check it out, so, it's just a kindness returned. Thanks, too, for you votes; can't ever have too many of those!

Delayed and annoyed mornin' stats VOMP!

Your faithful Tallymister would take it as a personal favor if anyone cared to throw some votes Ponderosa's and Bonanza's way. Bonanza, in particular, is fallin' short of the totals they're gonna need to reach their goal of 500k. Just sayin' that it'd be the neighborly thing to do to help 'em out, and I want to thank those of you who have already been helpin' move the Bonanzai's toward their goal. It'll give us a little something extra to share in celebrating when the Poll ends. Xie-xie!

Firefly is still AHEAD of schedule, but by only 1 day!

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 28.14 (30.99) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

Our ultimate goal, 750,000, is 32,450 (33,651) votes, and 27.02 (28.33) days away! We're on-target, and need to maintain a daily average of 1,119 (1,086) votes to stay on track.

Firefly is 173,539 (172,936) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #16 show Doctor Who 172,735. That puts us at 1,461 (2,064) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 2.42 (3.38) days, based on current voting. We still don't hold the highest lead of a show over its closest competition. That distinction currently belongs to Bonanaza, with a lead of 174,336 (174,129) over Gunsmoke. We'll soon have that tied up.

Yesterday, Xenites voted 598 (578) times, 20 more than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 603 (610) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

We'll get our next banner, for 720,000 votes, in another 2,450 (3,651) votes, and 2.04 (3.07) days!

7,878,668 (7,862,884) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 07/18/08. Yesterday, 15,784 (14,873) votes were cast.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny? We accomplish more together than we would separately!)...

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 607 (547) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 447 (434) votes, yesterday, in 75.39 (108.17) days.

The Colonials need urgent help, if they are to advance again before the Poll ends! Please lend 'em a hand!

#6 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer got 709 (661) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass BSG by the end of the Poll. Buffy's numbers are still sufficient to hold off #7 show Farscape.

#9 show Angel got 678 (652) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass Jericho by the end of the Poll. Angel's numbers are still sufficient to hold off #10 show The X-Files. Angel is 32.24 (34.57) days from the Hall of Fame, about 4 (4) days behind. In order to enter the HoF before the Poll ends, Angel needs a daily average of at least 754 (727) votes.

#13 show Babylon 5 got 418 (395) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass Little House on the Prairie by the end of the Poll. B5's numbers are still sufficient to hold off #14 show La Femme Nikita.

#24 show Dark Shadows got 383 (392) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #23 show Star Trek: The Original Series, which got 297 (289) votes, in 20.77 (18.17) days!

Please continue to lend your support to our friends, the Barnabas Browncoats!

#34 Blood Ties got 664 (593) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #33 show The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which got 276 (260) votes, yesterday, in 21.39 (26.09) days.

#41 show (#1 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight got 1,582 (1,389) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #40 show, Queer as Folk, which got 126 (120) votes, yesterday, in 4.22 (6) days, to enter the Top 40!

Yours in the cause,

In true Browncoat spirit I will keep on nominating Red Dwarf until the very end. It does not matter that we win by getting Red Dwarf into the Top 40, but rather that we fought, and for that I thank you all. When the day come that I no longer can vump I will miss it, but I will know I gave a good fight. BTW Vump with a side order of Red Dwarf.

YEah. Still giving the noms. Given a longer period of time the crew of Red Dwarf would get the recognition they deserve.

FIREFLY. Still flyin'.

- Ellen

No , don't bother ' getting a life '...'Cause hangin' out with the Browncoats is far more fun than ' reality ' , I promise !

You're gonna come with us...Sit for a tick , make yourself to home , and learn all there is to know about the Love that is Firefly !

Thanks for your support , Ellen , and your visit with Us ! We're Proud To Know You !
