I have, through keen observation and sheer persistence, come across a few things on the various threads that I wish to share with all of you...

1) BadgersHat says "...keep in mind..." a LOT. I therefore deduce that he has a large head, for keeping all that stuff in mind.

2) Gunhand has lots of long stories to tell. I'n not going to tell you how I figured that out. It's too long of a story.

3) Neroli is a spoiled brat. Just 'cause she is, that's why. It has nothing to do with Jayne winning that stupid poll that Mal should have won.

4) Everyone on these boards is cool in my book, because they like the same show I like, and for the same reasons. (Howdyrockerbaby1, this means you too!)

5) Delia ROCKS because she let me vote for Cordy on both the Angel and the Buffy vote thread thingies.

6) Zoid is long-winded, convoluted, a tad twisted, highly funny and slightly mad. Plus, he knows stuff about stuff.

7) Elwoodmom needs to start a thread that ends up in a "Mal winning" direction! And someone needs to watch her kids so she can get some TV time in!

8) Haken should receive some sort of award for the quality of this website. Anyone want to run to the corner award store? Here's a few bucks, get him something shiny.

Anyone else notice anything about anythin else? ONLY NICE STUFF. NOTHING MEAN. (Was I mean? I didn't mean to be. If I was, retroactive apologies are hereby tendered!)

Well, thank you kindly! I'm at the end of a day from hell, and this really made it much better.

I'll add an opinion: Malicious is terribly cool, which is evident by the thought-provoking threads and great screen name.

Ah yes the long stories.

Although I have to give the highly abridged Cliffs Notes versions usually because, well otherwise I'd have to...

Well you know the rest.

A large head, eh? Well, I AM 6'11", so I guess it'd be in proportion.

Keep in mind, though, that EVERYTHING is proportional... especially the hat...

Malicious:

I know it's pretty convoluted and twisted, but I actually like being described as convoluted and twisted. The only thing I'd change is the adjective 'slightly', to the more accurate 'barking'. ;)

Thank you very kindly.

If you, too, would like to know "stuff about stuff", I highly recommend starting by memorizing Monty Python's movies, "The Holy Grail", "The Life of Brian", and (especially) "The Meaning of Life". Deeply funny and highly philosophical. "The Galaxy Song" from "Meaning..." literally changed my way of thinking about my place in the universe. Consider the following scene, featuring the song:

Excerpted...
Quote:

First Man: You do realise... he has to be... well... dead... by the terms of the card... before he donates his liver.

Mrs Bloke: Well I told him that... but he never listens to me... silly man.

First Man: Only... I was wondering what you was thinking of doing after that... I mean... will you stay on your own or... is there someone else... sort of... on the horizon...?

Mrs Bloke: I'm too old for that sort of thing. I'm past my prime...

First Man: Not at all... you're a very attractive woman.

Mrs Bloke: (laughs a little) Well... I'm certainly not thinking of getting hitched up again...

First Man: Sure?

Mrs Bloke: Sure.

First Man: (coming a little closer) Can we have your liver then?

Mrs Bloke: No... I don't want to die.

First Man: Oh come on, it's perfectly natural. Only take a couple of minutes.

Mrs Bloke: Oh... I'd be scared.

First Man: All right, I'll tell you what. Look, listen to this -

(A man in pink evening dress (tuxedo and tails) emerges from the fridge.)

Man in Pink Evening Dress: Whenever life gets you down, Mrs Brown
And things seem hard or tough
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft
And you feel that you've had quite enough...

(As he starts to sing, the wall of the kitchen disintegrates to reveal a magnificent night sky. The vocalist in pink escorts Mrs Bloke up into the stars.)

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at 900 miles an hour,
That's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see,
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the Milky Way.

Our galaxy itself contains 100 billion stars
It's 100,000 light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, 16,000 light years thick
But out by us its just 3,000 light years wide
We're 30,000 light years from galactic central points,
We go round every 200 million years
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding Universe.

The Universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light you know,
12 million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
'Cause there's bugger all down here on earth.

(The vocalist in pink climbs back into the fridge and the door slams to.)

Mrs Bloke: Makes you feel so sort of... insignificant, doesn't it?

First Man: Yeah, yeah... Can we have your liver, then?

Mrs Bloke: Yeah... All right, you talked me into it.

(stolen from 'Monty Python's Completely Meaningless Website'; reprinted here without permission of any kind, and I challenge Graham Chapman to say a damned thing about it!)

Monty Python will change your perspective on a lot of things...

Fondly,

zoid
P.S.
How was that for long-winded?

Indeed! (Lo Pan Voice)

I've read that you can actually build an entire philosophy of life out of the Monty Python films and show.

For myself, I've built my philosophy of life based around Blackadder. Because I'm more the sarcastic bastard type than the idiomatic humor type.

I don't know if one can or not, but I'm certainly trying. Ask me after I'm dead whether I was successful in the attempt.

And lest we forget, the Python tradition is still alive and well, beyond those three movies. The sole Yank (Minneapolitan) among the MPs, Terry Gilliam, wrote or screenwrote all three MP films, as well as writing/directing:

"Time Bandits" (Sir Ralph Richardson as 'God' and reverse-smoking Sunday joint)
"Brazil" (Michael Jackson's plastic surgeon and the final thoughts of a dying man)
"The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" (immortal longs to embrace Death and Uma Thurman)
"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (who put LSD in my popcorn?)
and the up-coming "Brothers Grimm" which features his usual all-star cast; see http://imdb.com/title/tt0355295/ for details (Monica Bellucci, 'nuff said)

Respectfully,

zoid

Zoid, I actually caught an appearence from John Cleese on one of the late night talk shows. (sorry, don't remember which one and it feels like about a month ago) Anyway the point was he mentioned he's created the Church of Cleese. Haven't looked into it much but from the brief statements he made about his/it's philosophy, I think I'm converting.
