We only had a two day and it seems like seven.

At least it's Friday.

I can sit around all day like a pro. Seriously. I have to kick my butt into gear to get anything done. If it's been an especially hard week, I can just sit on the couch and stare off into space for awhile and not feel guilty about it.

Actually, I have a problem with doing too little. I'm hardly a sloth, but let's just say if it is the least bit unappealing, I find a way to avoid it. Dishes? Um, haven't done those in awhile. I did clean the house this weekend, but that was after HOURS and HOURS of reading (I finished two 500+ page books in two and a half days).

Productive, schmoductive, I say.

Reading fiction or something potentially helpful? Reading can be productive. Reading romance novels not so much, but some reading is ok.

Um....*hangs head in shame*...can junior adult fiction be considered productive? ;) I did a book swap with a pre-teen at the barn. You know, trying to be all bondy and mentor-y and all that crap. Well, she gave me "Twilight" and I was pretty hooked. Vampires, drama, romance, dreamy leading man. It was addictive. And there's four in the series. :D I'm done now and can go back to books more appropriate for my age group. :D

BUT, fiction can absolutely be productive. Fiction can teach you a lot about the world/society/yourself. :P

Fiction is very productive...90% of my mechanical, scientific, and computer knowledge comes from side notes or comments made by characters in fiction...

So about this lunch hour thing ( sorry I'm just cranky 'cause yet again my lunch " hour" consists of me eating a diet micro meal while designing another powerpoint for training....)

You might try Kim Harrison's books if you'd like a more adult version of the vampire romance:)

Also yet another plug for Jim Butcher's Dresden books!!

Sure. I used to take a little over an hour every day. It doesn't really matter for my job though. However long I take I just have to work that much longer. My job is pretty flexible though.

Recently I've decided to try to leave earlier and now I just bring food and eat in like 30 - 45 minutes.

My lunch 'half hour' is usually nothing like a lunch. It's 30 minutes when I won't answer the phone.

The Stephenie Meyer books were pretty adult. I wouldn't have let my pre-teen read them...but I guess I'm old fashioned. Have you read them? With your amazing speed reading skillz, I'm sure you'd be finished with all 4 in about 2 days.

I've scanned the first one 'cause so many kids in my classes were reading them and yes I wasn't thrilled at the 12-14 set reading them... I'm thinking books might need ratings like movies or something...

LOL over the speed reading.. NV was starting to laugh over the fact that I had to buy a new book in each airport we stopped in 'cause I'd read a book or two per flight ( I can't fly without books) I'm just appreciative that he carried the big bag o' books and such for me as his carry on

Zeek...hmm ok that's one person with an " hour"

It was pretty funny one time we were in crunch time on a project and I was working some insane hours like staying til 2am and getting right back in at like 10am the next morning and my manager was like "if you need to take a long lunch or something just let me know". I said "OK thanks". In my head I was like "a.) like that's compensation? b.) like I'd ask?".

I ended up laughing hysterically for over 20 minutes when a customer asked if I had any hair that would make him bald ( he meant a bald cap) It wasn't the fun laughter either it was sort of out of control and panicky

HUGS Zeek... eek emotions:)

hair that would make him bald....that's a really. weird way of putting it.

that's okay, my aunt deals with air freight, and she had a customer call who wanted to ship jet fuel. she said that flammable materials were one of the things they can't ship, and his response was,

"Jet fuel is *not* flammable!!"

Dress update!!

So, I got far enough on my dress today to pin it together in the last few places and take a few pictures of more or less how it'll look when it's done:

And this is the original design:

Since the skirt is all cut on a bias, I need to let it hang for a month or more before I do the hem and attach the bodice to the skirt. And I need to find some shoes... I am so not used to taking a break during a sewing project, so this is totally going to gnaw at me, lol.

Anyhow, I thought MsB and maybe a few other people might be interested in how it's coming together.

Oooh, and since I have to wait, maybe I can start on my D*C costume...

You don't like the day after thanksgiving? That's the day you can potentially find some awesome deals. The last couple years have been pretty tame really. One time I got up extra early and got a DVD drive for my computer that was free after rebate. That was awesome for a poor college kid. Little did I know it ruined my brother's christmas gift of a DVD drive. Oops.

I took an hour today, had some Popeye's and watched a little bit of Back to the Future II. I think I would go completely nuts (ok, moreso than I am already) if I didn't get out every day for lunch.

Yeah because it was believed that AIDS was contracted from the monkeys. Not the band but the animal. And we just wanted to deal with that issue - just a couple of points. Just changing the attitude towards AIDS from being "Eww AIDSy" to more like "Oh! Fun monkey disease"

Maybe a third floor window.

An hour or so after a VERY large Diet Coke.

I am a notorious urinator (my super power I think).

Best one was the gas station attendant who didn't want to open the bathroom door for me. When I told my friend I pissed on his car they expected to find I pissed on the tire or something.

NOPE!

When we pulled the truck about they seemed surprized to see the WHOLE car thoroughly hosed clean and dripping.

What can I say? Had to go.

lol I forgot to mention Austin Browncoats had our "first sunday" viewing of a Firefly episode last night. After the episode browncoat beth was talking about wanting to do a dr. horrible lip sync/play thing at next years can't stop the serenity screening and she though I would make a good Dr. Horrible. How hilarious would that be? I'm conflicted with shyness vs hilariousness.

Boringly. I'm not in the mood to do what's on my plate today. So, basically I'm doing everything very slowly mixed in with a lot of web browsing.

Plus I really want to get home to watch the end of the Bears game. I'm pretty sure they win but I'm avoiding ESPN to try to stay unspoiled. The "Go Bears" email from my mom this morning is sort of telling though.
