Those radioactive scamps are now ahead 628-617. We're still a contender for this week. We'll just wear them down. And when you see votes go up in increments of six, it means someone is using the no-cookies cheat.

Meanwhile, we made a breakthrough at weekinwhedon, getting below a thousand votes behind (987, while at the end of August we were 1157 behind). In the last 24 hours, we got in 38 votes, while the Angelites, all two of them, got in two. Every vote counts here.

On the eastern front, BBC got some heavy action (mostly from Browncoats) in the last 24 hours; 41 votes. Another few days like that and we'll have 40 percent of the vote (and Star Wars will be close to 29 percent).

We may be few, but we are mighty, and annoyingly persistent.

I technically do cheat according to the rules someone wrote down yesterday where they felt it was only right to vote once every six hours no matter how many computers you own or whether you use the cookies cheat. I nom at home early in the morning when I feed my dog her breakfast, and once before I come to work in the afternoon. At work I start the process all over gain where I nom at about 2pm and then again just before I leave for home where I nom once again. Most people get three noms in a day and in my method I get in five.

The only way we maintain the moral high ground is for all of us to strictly adhere to the rules as stated, letter AND intent.

If any of us votes on TV Tally more than ONCE in any given six-hour period, that's cheating. We know the rules, and so do our opponents. The question is, do we allow ourselves to rationalize the same sort of loopholes that they do, and sink to their level, or do we do our best according to the rules, and win because we have the numbers of devoted fans to get the votes to do it?

Even if Jericho does (inevitably) get more votes than we do at the end of the week, we know that their vote total is not only suspect, but substantially tainted. How do we know this? I'll be showing you all how I know this in the next day or two, once I collate the data I've collected.

Again, there are definitely also Rangers who have stated that they only cast the allowed number of votes, so not all Jericho voters are behind this (nor do there need to be many, to boost their score ahead of ours whenever they fall behind us).

Bottom line is, currently, it will be impossible for Firefly to "win" based on the numbers which post on TV Tally. If they cheat, they win. If we cheat, then it becomes a war of cheaters, and completely pointless. If we don't cheat, we can ignore their score completely, since it is invalidated by their actions, and WE win.

Or, we can just walk away and let them have their little poll. I'd as soon make 'em sweat, and show 'em what we can do with REAL numbers.

Still only casting legitimate, 6-hour votes, VUMP!

I am as well; but have to admit that for Rich's poll I did vote on my home computer then go to work and vote there most of the day - then at home in the evening. I guess that was a form of cheating in a sense. Now that I don't work - I only have the one computer to vote once every six hours.

About this cheating thing. If you are one of those people (and they do exist) who have their browsers set to no cookies, and they find that they can vote for Firefly six times every six hours, is that cheating? Can't it be considered a reward for withdrawing from the corrupt and much abused cookie culture?

Meanwhile, progress is being made at weekinwhedon, where we have closed the gap to 958 votes behind in the last 24 hours (from 987). In that period, there were 15 votes for Angel, but 48 for Firefly. We are not only mighty, but we are more numerous.

Same thing at BBC, where 44 votes were cast in the last 24 hours, most of them for Firefly. We at 39.91 percent, SW is at 30.63 percent (which is still more than they deserve.

That sure would seem to be the rationalization that I discovered in my research into the Jericho voting; they clearly have no compunctions about emptying the cookie jar to vote as often as they deem necessary.

Gorram right it's cheating, whether done for The X Files, Jericho, or Firefly!

It's a bit longish, but the most pertinent points are highlighted in bold, including editorial remarks, and I think everyone here with an interest in voting, and TV Tally, in particular, will find it revelatory. Alright. Just in case there are any vumpers here who are in doubt that Jericho's consistent success on TV Tally results from anything less that pristine voting, here are a few screen caps for you, from their own voting thread, on CBS...

This is one Ranger's question about the validity of using the method their vote-leader, Tothal, cooked up for them to use on TV Tally, to get as many votes as they needed to stay ahead:

It is worth noting that Flowerlady, the other voting ringleader, reassured Tapsel that it was, indeed, alright to use a method that allowed one to vote more than once every six hours.

Here's a screen cap of instructions for the technologically-limited voters who, despite a lack of facility with downloading programs, still wanted a way to get more votes in on TV Tally:

This is Tothal admonishing Flowerlady to be vigilant over TV Tally's status:

This is Flowerlady's reply:

With only 1 vote/6 hours, you either vote enough, or you don't. How do you "Take care" of the voting on TV Tally... Unless...

...You cast more than one vote at a time.

As for how, well, there are a variety of combinations of browsers and specialty programs which allow automated deletion of cookies, which pretty much gives one carte blanche on the less-well protected polls to cast as many votes as desired:

...When they work.

There are tons more posts of their efforts to cheat on other polls, including the happily-received autovoter on TV Vote, which they all swore up and down they didn't know was against the rules when Rich busted 'em.

Pretty sad, but that's the path down which I would hate to see us go. Let's keep to the straight and narrow, with hard-earned victories, not cheating to win at any cost.

My vote pushed us to the top, for now anyway.

Ray,
I agree about getting a kitty when you get to Hawaii, I hear that they have a problem with strays over there. I am glad that the restrictions on bringing animals in is a little better.
How long have you been planning on moving there? I know jobs are very scarce, I understand that if you are related to an Islander your job prospects are better, jobs go to family. My biggest problem when I was thinksing of moving was finding a job, none were available.

Vote and Bump....everybody have a great day!!!
