According to the Nielsen ratings at www.zap2it.com Fringe finished 6th in the ratings last week with over 13 million viewers.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

First of all, there is no ratings information about Fringe or any other show on the page you linked to. Besides, there are only five major networks, and there is no way even a poorly performing FOX show is going to have lower numbers than the best CW show. So how could Fringe come in sixth.

Doing some searching I found this tidbit.

Quote:

ABC took over at 9 p.m. with "Dancing with the Stars," 11.5/17. The premiere of "The Mentalist" drew a 9.9/15 for CBS, retaining better than 85 percent of its lead-in audience. "Fringe" posted a 6.0/9, keeping FOX in front of NBC and "The Biggest Loser," 4.9/7. "Privileged" closed out the evening for The CW.

If you don't like Fringe that is fine. But don't fabricate information to support your position.

Okay, my bad. I read your post as stating that Fringe came in sixth in its time slot on Tuesday night, not sixth overall for the week. That's much better than I expected.

Well I frankly love this show, and Walter stands out as the best thing on there.

It's probably not going to last.

How is a show that's coming in 6th (out of ALL shows last week), NOT going to last? Just because it's on Fox? Give me a break! This FOX hate is out of control here.

If the ratings weren't there, sure, FOX is notorious for not giving a show a chance, but no show that gets ratings like that is going to get cancelled unless the ratings tank from here. So far, it's got VERY strong ratings, so even brain dead network execs aren't that stupid!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

It is too early to tell how the ratings will hold up. The first week was a lot lower than anticipated, just a little more than 9 million viewers, but the increase for the second week (which is the week Whozit is referring to) has generally been attributed to the lead-in by House, which had it's season premiere that night. Let's wait to see what the next report shows about how many of those extra viewers stick around.

OUT2THEBLACK

" LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) -
J.J. Abrams' mind-control experiment seems to be working. The second episode of Fox's supernatural science fiction thriller "Fringe" jumped a stunning 45% in the ratings Tuesday night.

"Fringe" pulled in 13.2 million viewers, up from 9.1 million for last week's premiere, retaining most of its lead-in from the Season 5 premiere of "House."

Unfortunately for Fox, the 14.7 million viewers for the medical drama was down sharply from the 18.3 million who tuned in to the Season 4 premiere. Last year, the show aired during the official broadcast premiere week, so it had a more effective launch period.

If "Fringe" and "House" are able to roughly maintain this week's level of popularity, a softer "House" number will be irrelevant. Fox's goal is to have two winning hours on Tuesdays this fall instead of one. If the two syringe-and-microscope dramas can hold steady against the gauntlet of increased competition during the next few weeks, Fox will gain a formidable Tuesday-night beachhead. "

Way to take my reply the wrong way. I meant it's not going to last because I LIKE IT. And most of what I like ends up getting cancelled. It was MEANT to be a joke. Get over it.

TWILIGHTSEEKER

So far I am enjoying Fringe. I like the actors and so far the dialog is great. Give them some time to get on their feet and tighten things up.

SHINYGOODGUY

I agree with twilightseeker. So far, so good. I like the actors, the pacing and the dialog. It's also funny (which I didn't expect). Plus remember folks this show started right after Labor Day and many people were still in vacation mode around then.

In time it will pick up momentum. The last episode (The Ghost Network, aired last Tuesday, 9/23) was the best so far and it does seem to be getting interesting. For me the jury's still out but I'm leaning toward putting this on my must-watch list.

Shiny! Let's be bad guys!

Get over what? Your inability to articulate a serious response from a joke? DONE!

Next time you want to convince someone you're making a "joke", a "LOL" might help. Sorry for not being able to read your mind (not that I'd really want to), but text doesn't convey your emotional state, so it was IMPOSSIBLE to take your response as anything but serious! If I had assumed your response was a joke, would you be just as mad that I wasn't taking you seriously? Get over yourself!!!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

GOOD NEWS! www.zap2it.com reports that FOX has ordered a full season of Fringe. The 9/30 episode drew around 10 million viewers.
