Does anybody else feel like River's ramblings feel kind of reminiscent of Fred when she was in/just back from Pylea?

I wonder if the similarities are due to the writing, or if that's just what crazy people sound like on TV.... (I really don't watch many other shows, so it's hard to say....)

My theory is that he hired Amy Acker to do the Fred thinig on Angel and swiftly realized he'd made a terrible mistake and that she's far too cutesy-wutesy to do a creepy good crazy. So he's trying again with Summer Glau to do River, with more success 'coz he's got a better actor (IMO). JW's already shown that if he does a thing and it doesn't come out right he'll try again...

Now, I love Buffy as I love life (although less than I love Firefly, don't work that out to its logical conclusion pls) but I think that Goofy!Wash is a big improvement on Goofy!Xander. AdorableGeek!Kaylee is about even with AdorableGeek!Willow by my reckonin'.

All crazy people on all Mutant Enemy shows sound alike. They just like 'em that way.

Or you could go with the TWoP explanation and say that they're all just tuned into KRZY — Radio for the Legally Insane. Sometimes they're playing "Build That Tower," other times it's "They're Coming After You." (Heh. I cracked up when I read that one. So sue me.)
