The guys over at IGN came up with a list of actresses they believe should be Bond girls (after they commended the fact that the character of Vesper Lynd was fleshed out in the recent Casino Royale) and Morena Baccarin and Christina Hendricks both make the list.

I got to admit, that would be pretty cool to see either of them in a movie as big as Bond.

Haven't even read the article yet, but am
with you on Christina or Morena as foils
for Bond. Beauty, intelligence, hotness --
heh. Gonna go read to find out who else
they think would work...

List, in order, with my comments:

Angeline Jolie - Meh. Too famous. Too easy a choice.

Morena - Phwoar! Perfect choice. IGN's commentary is terminally lame, however.

Monica Belluci - Uh-huh. Excellent candidate, exotic and alluring.

Keeley Hazell - Who? Eye candy - topless model that I doubt would be able to meet the minimum (and, let's face it, minimal) dramatic standards.

Salma Hayek - Wha-Yeah. Not a connection that I would've made but it starts to make sense very quickly. IGN allude to Halle Berry and suddenly it's all good.

Diane Kruger - Nope. I will confess that she's an excellent selection except that she's already done National Treasure and therefore falls into the too obvious catagory.

Paz Vega - Hmmm. Only if you can forgive her doing an Adam Sandler movie. Oh yes.

Diora Baird - Oh gawd. Hotness alone is insufficient. Her only dramatic talent, toplessness, is not required in a bond flick.

Giselle - Oh hell. READ PREVIOUS PARAGRAPH.

Christina Hendricks - Yeah baby. Perfect for 007 - they saved the best for last.

Tried to come back to update my post and the
browser got hiccups or mad cow or something.

Can't do them one at a time, but Jolie? Eugh.
Go whip Brad into acquiring more children, A.J.
Morena comments *were* lame. Good grief!
Christina yum yum yum and she could pretend to
kick DC's backside as well, though it's more fun
watching her pound on the Captain.

DC has worked with Sienna Miller before. Once
more? Or is she too thrashed by now?

Summer?

BUT (big but) being Bond girl isn't the biggest
career-builder ever invented. Do we want to curse our favorite ladies?

Maybe we should all vote for someone we'd like
to see sent into retirement albeit with legend
status.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Definitely Morena.

That woman is too fine for her own good.

Some of those choices are good, namely our 2 girls and some of the lesser known, more exotic looking ladies. Angelina is way too famous for her own good, but I think Selma Hayek would be a nice fit.
