A beautiful letter.

Just a note re: mail, since the mail tampering incidents, many agencies actually prefer email. So feel free to choose your medium, but I wouldn't feel that email is not listened to. I know that when mailing members of congress, snail mail can be held up for quite some time (weeks/months) due to security procedures.

OK ... here's my pithy letter. I don't read the mag (as Simon would say, "ever!"), but let's keep our fingers crossed, eh?

Dear EW:

Unlike many of my fellow Firefly fans, I'm delighted Fox and Mr. Whedon have parted company. Firefly on Fox meant Firefly scattered over the television schedule like a mosquito on a windshield, plus commercials. Thanks to fan demand, we have a very shiny series of commercial-free DVDs and an upcoming feature film that will kick the go-se out of Fox's pathetic attempts to kill this fine creation.

Respectfully,

Cheers,
Annik

Well, here is my letter. Not too good, but I guess it will have to do.

Quote:

Thank you for the interview with Joss Whedon (EW #766 The X Factor). "Fox is a bad network that makes bad decisions."? Truer words have never been spoken! It is so refreshing to hear an industry professional speak out openly and honestly about the bad decision making of a major network. The Fox network's mishandling of Firefly and this year with Wonderfalls is inexcusable. Then you have The WB giving the brilliant show Angel the ax because "we have to do more reality, we don't have room for Angel...". Yeah, like we don't have enough "reality" garbage on the air. In the excellent musical episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Joss posed the question "Where do we go from here?". That is the question that I imagine most TV actors, writers, directors, and fans of quality scripted programming are asking themselves today. I guess we will have to turn to the movies and to the cable networks that are still willing to invest in a well written show. Good luck David Greenwalt, Marti Noxon, and Douglas Petrie. And I don't want to think about a television season without Joss Whedon or Tim Minear, that's scarier than the singing on American Idol!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.
