i have noticed a few threads centered around the music of the show. perhaps everyone might share some of their favorite music scenes from Firefly! what is your best "music moment"?

my personal favorite is in "serenity" when the ship pulls away from the wreckage and prepares to escape from the alliance cruiser. i love that little music clip. i love that guitar strumming. it just seems to encapsulate the entire show.

I agree. It just adds a new dimension to the scene allowing the viewer to understand Mal's emotions even though they can't be expressed verbally.

"When you can't run...you crawl...and when you can't crawl...when you can't do that..."
"Find someone to carry you"

I love the whole score and I’ll definitely buy the soundtrack whenever they decide to release one.

My best music moment is at the end of Safe a few seconds before Simon says "Light it". There's a little tune after he gazes up at River and takes the last step next to her that made my stomach lurch the first time I heard it and still does sometimes. The River dancing/ gun fight mix with the music from that episode is great too.

These also caught my attention: From OiS - The Jubal Early theme (very creepy) and the music that plays when Kaylee sneaks to release the lock Early put on the crew quarters. Mal and Saffron’s wedding dance (I just like flutes) and the music that accompanies these lyrics: Jayne \ The man we call Jayne… that whole scene makes me laugh every single time.

the music for the scene with simon and river at the end of Aerial. i just love that scene because of the music.

also the end scene of jaynestown with mal and jayne just standing in the dock. the slow version of ballad of jayne playing i just love too.

another one is the end of shindig, with mal and inara sitting there, and after mal says he cant think of a reason to leave serenity, man, i love the music for this show

MAL
"Nice shot."
JAYNE
(slurred)
"I was aiming for his head"

My fav would have to be the one mentioned most by the cast - the one Greg Edmondson said he wrote as a requiem for the show at the end of "The Message" (when they were taking Tracey's body off the ship). Gets me every time...

"That'll put marzipan on your pie plate, bingo!"

in The Message when they are bringing Tracey's body out to his parents.

in Out of Gas when Mal is closing all the doors behind him

in every episode the theme song of course!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
MAL: This is my scrap of nowhere. You go on and find your own.
SAFFRON: You can't just leave me here, on this
lifeless piece of crap moon...
MAL: Sure I can.
SAFFRON: I'll die.
MAL: Well, as a courtesy, you might start
getting busy on that, cause all this chatter ain't doin' me any kindness.
